Still cold and windy here - we are still a good 15 degrees below normal and have been virtually all winter. They are calling for snow again on Tuesday. By this time of year the fruit trees are usually in bloom. We do have crocus in bloom in the garden and the daffodils are up, but everything is still weeks behind schedule here weather wise. I still have to prune the roses though, so maybe it is a good thing as I am not too late to do that still.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

So, it is March 1st in Georgia. Normally the fruit trees are in bloom by now and we are enjoying lovely Spring weather. Tonight there is a Winter Storm Advisory out and we are expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow by tomorrow night. Who turned the world upside down?

It is pouring out there this morning.

Got to love the Florida rain

It's frosty here this morning, which is odd because it has been un-frosty for a week. We have temps between 7-10 expected for the rest of the week too, it's nice :)

We have had a steady downpour for 24 hours now. There are rivers of water running everywhere. I like the rain. :)

I like the rain too. Unfortunately, it only rains a few times a year here. Today, It's supposed to be hot as hell again today.

That's one thing I don't miss about Florida.... the constant sunny days. I enjoy a bit of variety. lol

Are you at work, Rob? Americans sure do start early. When I have to drive my husband to the airport or the train we usually leave about 4:30-5:00 a.m. and I am shocked to see the highway jam packed like it was the middle of the day! Craziness.

Indeed I am at work. I have an odd schedule. I work 7-5, but get every other friday off. The highways here don't get really packed until about 6:45 a.m.. I think a majority of people start work here at 8 or 9. I like sunny days, but I really like rain and overcast weather. Probably a case of the grass is always greener on the other side.

Wow. I so could not do that. lol. I used to have a job which had 6:00am-2:00pm shifts every two weeks. Ugh. When that company was bought out by another company the process was to lay you off then rehire you. I told them to just lay me off because I didn't want to be re-hired. Then I went back to school and changed careers. Best move ever.

Wife is up around 0500 and soon off to work. She has what is called flex hours, so she gets to work early to "try" and miss the DC/Baltimore traffic! I work 1900-0700, which going to and from work sucks as I'm in the middle of rush hr traffic each way during the weekdays!! But you can tell DC is a govt city, as the traffic on Friday mornings is drastically reduced from a tues/wed or thurs, lol

Pouring rain here today!! Good day to stay inside and chill!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
