Chicago is going into deep freeze this week.

Hence all the snow they do not clear from sidewalks and from any side roads will turn to little mountains of rough, dirty ice.

Fun!

Hahahaha!

I heard something about -10 F!!

Brrrrr....

Well, as krikit mentioned, it's cooling down here in central-ish Florida. It's overcast and 14c here this morning, looks like rain and they said it may. Suppose to be chilly for a week at least.

Yes, it's a bit cooler today. It sprinkled last night while I was out bbq'ing. (My husband was at the gym so I decided to do my own bbq'ing instead of waiting for him. I'm not as good at it as he is, though, so I think I won't do that again. lol) It's been overcast all day, today, but not too bad. Supposed to get much cooler, though.

Cold here today and up until Saturday or Sunday I guess with Wednesday evening and Thursday morning the coldest. I've been such a suck this winter. I can't believe that I used to frolic in -40C weather, and now I'm whimpering when it's 20 F. :(

I regularly partook of winter activities in Saskatoon and took the bus for ages in -30 or -40, and I don't know that I was ever as cold as I've been here this winter. :crying: I am SUCH a SUCK!!

We are hitting negatives on the Fahrenheit scale and blowing snow in Chicago.

I think I will hibernate some more...

I made the mistake of going out yesterday and roaming around with public transit.

Brrrrrrr...froze my tushy off. (tushy is acceptable on VJ no? hee hee)

How goes it, Ron? Are you making any progress with either immigration path?

We're in the Deep South and tomorrow the high is only going to 28 degrees with the low at 13 - those are a good 30 degrees below our normal temperatures! I worry for the outdoor colony of feral cats - giving them lots of extra food and water during this cold snap. At least it will be sunny and they can find some reflected heat against the walls during the day.

Yikes! It's supposed to be really cold for us too. I wonder if I should bring in my plants?

No wait. They'll just have to fend for themselves. The next thing you know I'll have a whole herd of lizards in here. Flipping lizards. I had to stalk and catch another one in my bedroom the other day. I'm sure the neighbours heard me screaming. Maybe they thought I was having a really good time.

It's about 75 F (24 C) here at the moment, but is supposed to get up to 85 (30 C).

I have a question about Celcius and Farenheit. How long did it take for you to start using Farenheit when you moved to the U.S.? Mel doesn't know the Farenheit system, and wasn't really interested in the quick equations to roughly convert. I don't mind, I just learned Celcius. I even got my car's external thremometer on Celcius.
