We're under a snowfall warning. 15-20 cm. :D

Really? That much? I'd better get out and do some shopping sooner rather than later then...

That's what the forecast said.

But.. well.. it's been raining for 30 minutes. I hate you, Vancouver.

Haha...It's JUST like Vancouver to do that, isn't it?

It's snowing very lightly out here in the valley. I think it'll get heavier overnight. I'm not too concerned either way, since we've got a warm front expected to hit tomorrow afternoon and melt everything anyhow.

Yes, it is. :| So disappointed!

They're saying the valley will only get maybe 2-4cm, but mostly freezing rain.

Yeah...it seems to have completely stopped now.

Ah well. We'll probably get more this season. Maybe not for Christmas itself though, which is fine by me.

it's about 30F here, light snow. Ground's not cold enough though, so it's turning to mud instead of sticking.

There was quite a bit of snow up at the cabin (and coming home on the Coquihalla Highway) on Friday, but it looks like the whole Vancouver - Seattle corridor has been hit by a Pineapple Express, with warm temperatures and LOTS of rain. That's okay. I'll take rain over snow ANY day, even though I feel fairly comfortable driving in it. The first snow of the year is one thing. The twelfth is another thing entirely!

It is cold here too. We have barely made it above freezing - even after all day the water in the birdbath is still frozen - and there is a cold wind, although it is sunny. They are forecasting some areas in the Greater Atlanta area to fall into single digit temperatures overnight and tomorrow night. The highs all week are barely going to be above freezing and the lows well below freezing. I have winter clothing from Canada on - wool pants and a wool sweater and I'm carrying the hot water bottle around, hehehe. We keep the inside temperature at 64 which is fine when we have normal winter weather of the 40s and 50s (we are about 25 degrees below normal) but it is chilly when it is cold outside. And there is no end in sight - the long range 10 day forecast shows more of the same. (I know, I know, I'm not going to get any sympathy from those of you dealing with -30 windchills but heck, this is the Deep South - the land of cotton and Scarlett O'Hara! :D )

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hi Everyone,

Where I am in rural New York State, USA...It is currently...

18 degrees F...(way below freezing)...And with snow, snow, and more snow to come!! We'll be burried alive!

Brrr......

Typical January winter weather though....So it's not too unusual to expect such around here....

Though I have to wonder: How do they stand outdoor football in weather like this? Freezing fans and players!

We get the cold air and lake effect snow from nearby Canada....So yeah, it's all the same....North of the border, south of the border...

I don't mind the cold (it must be a Canadian thing)....

But I hate the high heating bills, despite keeping the heater at only 60 degrees F...

On the bright side: It is very beautiful to see the snow-capped mountains out my window, and thank goodness I have nice and helpful neighbours willing to help shovel our 50ft driveway for free..:)

Hope its not too cold and snowy where you are...

Sending some hot choco and warm thoughts to all!

We've hit a horrible cold spell! Since New Years Day, the nights have gotten into single digits. I'm such a wimp now in the cold. I tell everyone it's just because it's so damp here. Some of it I think is just that I'm older. I can't wait for it to end!
