CALGARY - It is barely October, but Calgary is expected to see its first snow this fall over the weekend, forecasts say.

Environment Canada says the current stretch of sunny but cool weather will give way to rain this afternoon - and then changing to wet snow overnight.

The wet snow and showers will continue Saturday and likely Sunday, the forecast says. Lows will reach 0 C tonight and will only hit a high of 4 C on Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures have been slowly creeping downward in Calgary since the heat wave in late September pushed the mercury to above 30 C. Last night, lows reached -4 C, and highs only reached 13 C.

Roads in the interior are already covered in snow. One of the passes had snow on Sept. 29.

CALGARY - Mother Nature will give Calgarians a clear sign that the summer is over starting this afternoon, as temperatures are expected to plunge to -10 C tonight, forecasts say. Meanwhile, officials are warning against road travel on several Alberta highways, citing wintery conditions.

Despite hitting record highs of 33 C just two weeks ago, temperatures in Calgary have slipped steadily to a high of only 3.2 C Wednesday. The downward trend is expected to continue, with winds up to 50 km/h bringing snow to the city today. Highs are expected to reach only 2 C before dipping to -5 C in the afternoon.

The weather at this time of year is lovely in PA.... warm and beautiful. My Dad was telling me it was 9C in Montreal yesterday, very chilly. Granted it's cool in the morning, but I still don't need a jacket in the afternoons. I really love the weather here. I still get all the seasons but not as drastic as home.

Two days of rain...probably about 4 or 5 inches of the stuff! Ugh! Potty training a puppy is not fun in the rain. He doesn't want to go out of course.

Got a huge cold front from Canada here, so we went from the 70's down to the 30's now. Freaking freezing, but going to be like this till Sunday, then I fly to Miami where it will be good temps. Of course while I'm gone we're expected to be back into the 70's. Why can't this ####### weather happen while I'm gone?

It is rather dreary here today, was yesterday too, foggy in the morning, clearer now but overcast, it's been raining on and off, which I guess is preferable to snow?
