Concerned about medical - Please help

I have my medical exam in two days and am very concerned about that. Last week I caught this bad cold and had been coughing like crazy. Saw my doctor early this week and she suspects that I am suffering from Bronchitis. As she prescribed me a chest X-Ray, I got it done the very same day but would not get the results till about a week.

Its the wheezing sound in my chest I am concerned about. Apart from this I am a pretty healthy person. Do you think that this is something to be worried about ?? (I understand that this late, I cannot do much about it)

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Bronchitis is pretty common - plus, you need to remember that the panel physician you are going to see it a physician! He is also used to dealing with patients and with common complaints.

If you are concerned, why don't you have your Doctor write out a short note explaining what he thinks it is, what your course of treatment is etc.

I would just explain to the Dr. that you have bronchitis, and he's not going to really have a concern. I'm asthmatic and that never came up as an issue during the medical..

If it helps to make you feel better, have your current Dr. prepare a statement saying that you are a healthy person but suffering from an illness right now.. but honestly, I wouldn't bother.

I'm assuming bronchitis looks a whole lot different than TB on a chest xray..

A week to get x-ray results back? Wowieee.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Write a report? I don't know much about medicine, but every time I've had xrays done the radiologist looks at the xray with me and tells me whats wrong or at least looks at it themselves and tells me whats wrong then and there.

Yeah you are absolutely right 'thetreble', but in this case, the place where I got my X-Rays done do not have a Radiologist on site. That person comes in a few times a week and writes up all the reports. Probably cost cutting !!

Thank you guys for all your help. The medical went fine (it was just a bad case of cold and the chest x-rays were just fine) and I just received a call confirming that I can pick up my results. The drive from Ottawa to Montreal is about 2 hours so I would not be there in time before the office closes. Would be leaving tomorrow afternoon from work to pick up the medical, stay overnight in mtl for the interview on Wednesday.

Thanks again for all your help.

On a different note, the interview requires me to get the latest federal tax return of the sponsor. My wife already attached her W2 forms, do I need to take a copy with me too ??

Also what else should I take along apart from the 2 photographs & passport ??

You don't have to take another tax return, they should have the copy you sent already.

You will also need the canada post envelope - which you probably already have? For them to mail your visa to you.

Good luck

Thank you trailmix. How about some proof of authenticity of our marriage. We did not submit any picture or anything, just a joint bank account details. Thats about it. Should I take some pictures of us together, phone records, flight itineraries , etc etc?

might as well take them. never know if they will ask, but good to have if they do. though, they never saw a single picture of my husband and I together.
