Affidivat Of Support

For the K-3 Visa. I am assuming that I need the I-864 form completed.

I am an American Citizen who lived in Europe for 6 months, got married there, lived there, etc.

I have returned to America 2 months ago without a job and living with my parents. What & who should I use for the Affidavit of Support? My mother is a housewife, my father is semi-retired but co-owns a machinist factory.

Do I have to complete a Affidavit of Support even though I left my job last May to go live in Europe?

Can I use my father even though he is semi-retired but co-owns a machine shop?

Is it true the support has to make over $17,500 yearly?

Please help! I am very confused about this.

Also, when completing the I-864 what other forms are included? Tax returns from last year?

Do I also need to get ANYTHING notarized?

Thank you very much!

Yes, you need an affidavit of support, you have the minimum income correct, don't need anything notarized and need to stop assuming and start studying the guides. The K3 doesn't use the I-864 for the visa. You use an I-134. Read its instructions.

Please remember that everyone is new to the USCIS process at one point and is confused. Please keep in mind that there is no silly question and everyone will learn at a different speed. I know you meant right in your reply but it was a bit brash in the way it came off.

I see on one page it states that for K-3 I need to complete a I-864 but in the topic someone is telling me I need the I-134. Which is true?

Do I also need to complete a DS-230?

What about the DS-156? Is this needed?

I apologize but I want to just get a head start with this paperwork. Because I am unemployed, do I also have to complete an Affidavit Of Support?

Again, will my father be okay to be my husbands support, even though he is semi-retired but co-owns a machinist factory and his house?

Please help...I know this is annoying. Thank you!

Hi,

We are K-3 too. We need only I-134 Affidavit of Support the other one is for CR1

Papers should be nearly the same for all of us.. Our documents are below that we've prepared.. this may help! Good luck!

I've prepared;

1- Police certificate

2- Full copy of my passport

3- Translation of the marriage certificate

4- Original birth certificate and its translation

5- 2 photos

6- DS-230 Part I and Part II

7- DS-156

My husband will send me these;

1- 2007 tax returns

2- 2007 W-2

3- Signed letter from his employer.. listing job title, start date, salary, the status (full time) of his position

4- Bank and other financial statements.. (my husbands income is above the poverty line, so we don't need this)

5- 3 most recent pay stubs

6- Copy of NOA2
