Medical Exam for AOS

My husband had his medical exam in Mexico in August of 2005. This was the medical exam for his K-3 visa interview. He was denied and we had to file the I-601 waiver, he entered the US February 3, 2006. His AOS interview is scheduled for July 26th. We have already supplied the vaccination suppliment when we submitted the I-485. Do you think he has to have another medical? I would hate to get there and be told that they could have approved if he had a valid medical exam?

The medical exam is good for 12 months. Since your interview is a month before it expires and they didn't send an RFE about your medical, I think you don't need to worry about it.

As long as it was less than 12 months between the date the medical was performed and the date that your I-485 was accepted by the USCIS, another medical is not necessary.

We never received a RFE, so I hope that means we are OK. What happens at the interview if they request another? After we get the medical do we just make an info pass and drop it off?

If they ask you to have another medical done at your interview the will tell you who and where to send it to.... try not to worry so much about it many people have had a succesful interview with less than a month left on their medical.....

If you go by the date the medical was done and the date of the AOS interview, ours was more than year (almost 14 months) and nothing was said at all. I've always read that it is valid for 12 months starting from the medical exam date until the time the AOS Package is submitted. Don't worry!

PS I submitted a copy of the vacc. supplement when we sent in the AOS Package. I brought the sealed envelope with the vaccine supplement inside with us to the interview though, and the adjudicating officer never even asked for it. I offered it to him and he took it but said well it's already included here. I said yes but that's a copy and I wanted to be sure you had the sealed envelope. He just kinda looked at me like I was being silly. I don't know if our guy was just laidback or what. Take the envelope with you if you haven't already submitted it, but as far as the dates, you should be more than fine.

Our AOS interview was done about 2 weeks before husband's K-1 medical expired and we didn't have any problems.
