Keltic - I do the same thing as you, however not to such a degree because I just don't have the space in our 2 bedroom apartment. I spend about $100-$125 a week for 2 adults and 2 kids (age 2, and 5). We eat mostly fresh foods and I buy very few processed/packaged products. We don't drink alcohol so that's not an expenditure. We rarely eat out and when we do it's usually lunch (about $5 each) We may go out to dinner once every other month and spend generally no more than $50 combined. My oldest son gets hot lunch 2 days a week at school ($5 total - $2 pizza day, $3 hot lunch day). I use coupons, and shop at several stores. I weekly make a list of possible meals for the week, then look through the ads, and my coupons to determine which stores have the best deals, and where I can use my coupon with the sale items. It takes me about an hour and generally saves me A LOT!

Getting set up with my organization took a couple of hours all total. Each week, if I spend about an hour or so with the coupons, I am good to go. It really is worth the savings. I figure if I save enough to pay for the newspapers and my time (based on my pay), then it is worth it. I always save MUCH more.

Btw, I read that military families can use expired coupons for up to 6 months after expiration. Does anyone know about this? If so, if anyone wants some expired coupons, I would be happy to send them out. Just msg me. post-13160-1231433841.gif

So I spent $77 at the grocery store today and had two bags and a case of bottled water...I think I'm doing something way different than some of you people

Yeah, you could save yourself hundreds of dollars or more every year just by getting yourself a Brita filter jug rather than bottled water. Its just filtered tap water anyway.

I tried the brita thing and it drove me mad. I guess I'd rather waste money.

$5 per day... Totino's pizza and Ramen noodles at every meal.....

Your savings will be short lived, the sodium will kill you.

Or you could just drink beer.
