$30 for 2 adults and a child? Goodness!

I talked about this in the worst foods thread...that we rarely go out to eat and if we go it's very inexpensive. And we rarely spend $30 COMBINED. We are too cheap, and you know Sujeet is mr frugal and all. Even if we had tons of money he would be mad to spend that much on eating out all the time.

We spend about $200 -225 per week (2 adults, an 8, 9, and 12 y.o., and a 21 y.o that eats here 10% of the time). I'm with Amby and Uncle Wally on this one, don't skimp on food! I would much rather spend $30 on food to cook at home plus $20 - 30 for a good bottle of wine than to go out to a psuedo fast food restaurant like Applebee's or Chili's. When Rin wants the night off from cooking, I'll cook.

we don't skimp on food.. I buy a lot of groceries for my 80 bucks a week...

and sometimes we just like to get out of the house and splurge on a dinner out.... and to us splurging is spending 30 to 40 bucks for one meal..

if I let my hubby cook.. we would have scrambled eggs all the time.... :P ..lol

I tried to use a coupon once...forgot I had it and ended up throwing it away. Waste of time for me.

I got $2 off on a large sub at Quizno's today with a coupon

I am pretty embarrassed to say we spend a lot on food during the week. We will typically eat out 4 or so times during the week/weekends. I would say - probably 150/week in groceries and another 100 or so dining out. We don't eat a lot of food, but just try for quality, free range kind of stuff.

We do also eat at a Brazilian place about once a month, and thats usually around 125 for both of us.

I love coupons. Unfortunately there are rarely any for what I am shopping for. :( Our list is probably a little different than many since my hubby is a vegetarian and we hardly buy any meat. Only I buy myself chicken or something from time to time.

Ok, well eating at home frequently is either Thai food (Rin cooking) or northern Italian food (me cooking). Both can be fairly simple and inexpensive. It's just the damn wine that drives the cost of dining at home up!

About $60 per week on the Baby, all consumables included. (formula, diapers, fruit and so forth). She is converting to our foods, so that number is declining.

Eva and I spend about $150 per week on our food. We like to cook and eat!!!

Eating out is overrated in most cases, depending on the restaurant type and class.

We prepare foods that are not readily available here and don't have to pay for the marginal service in most places.
