Passport question

I couldn't find anyplace else to post this, so moderators feel free to move it to a more appropriate forum.

I've never gotten a passport before, and the US Department of State's website says that, for identifying yourself when applying is person, amongst the acceptable forms of identification is a valid driver's license. I don't have a driver's license, but I do have a valid ID picture ID card issued by my state. Is that acceptable as identification?

Yes. A STATE ISSUE ID is considered as a government issue ID. It's valid.
