I posted this already in the other January thread, but I would like to post the update here as well: our case showed up online for the first time today. It still says "received and pending", but at least something is happening! We contacted our congresswoman this week, but I don't know if her caseworker has inquired yet. We had also put in a request with USCIS last week that our case be finally put in the online system. So maybe it's just that... but I've heard of people whose case was approved shortly after it showed up online. So I am excited to see at least something happening!

I had an infopass appointment today.

I wrote the experience (in great detail) in case anyone else will have one so you'll know what to expect.

That's no good, I am setting an infopass meeting but I kinda had a feeling nothing much would happen. It wouldn't hurt to go though.

Jim, even based on my experience, I recommend the infopass appointment. The lady submitted a service request, 3 weeks before NCS would. And who knows, it might be run more efficiently in your city. But I do recommend going early, or knowing that you'll miss more time from work than you initially thought.

I thought I'd be there from 11:15 to 11:30, and be back to work by 12. Didn't get back until almost 1:30. The word "appointment" fooled me.

what is snail mail i keep hearing it??

US Postal Service mail, as opposed to eMail (electronic mail). Called snail mail cause it takes much longer than email.

Jim, NCS = National Customer Service

kcrand, from what I've read from the very few NOA2 recipients lately, they've been getting it by snail mail. No online updates by USCIS, the slackers.

Went and scheduled an infopass last friday. I knew they couldn't do much but I did get some information. The dude at the front counter told me that my petition has been with an immigration officer (ajudicator) since April 18th.

April 18th? My goodness... What is wrong with these people? They dont care one bit about what they are doing to us mentally. I had a small uncontrollable crying break down at work this morning thinking about all this ####### and how so many February filers are getting approvals now. I went online to see about scheduling a infopass appointment and the closest office to me is Memphis, TN, which is 6 hours away. I see no end to this madness...
