Just an update: 05/28/2009 ~ Received a call back from Senior Case Officer from my Congressman's district office today. She is sending a form to me to fill out and return that will give them permission to inquire about my case. I will fax a copy of my NOA1 and the form back to them and then they will send an inquiry to USCIS about the status of my case. Maybe it's small, but progress is progress.

Guys Im getting so depressed and angry at the same time. I know we must wait our 6 months but the government is so unfair! This is one of the hardest things I think I will ever have to do. Not only are we going through the emotions of being away from our SO but then to see how USCIS processes out of order. Sorry, Im just upset, depressed, missing my SO, and think Im feeling any other feelings that comes along with this process..

Yep, you guessed it- Mailbox was empty today... well, it had a bill in it of course...

OK. So I had to take some action today too. I fired my attorney back in April. I contacted uscis about this and he did, too. But now I wonder if they did not remove him from my case and maybe HE has my NOA2. So, I called uscis to find out if they removed him. They cant tell me anything. I have to make an appointment and go to my local office just to see if his address or mine is on my file! This is crazy! If my NOA2 is laying on his desk somewhere......

But any way the woman told me she had no way of knowing if my case had been approved yet or not. Has anyone else gotten this answer? Do they usually know if your NOA2 has been mailed? All she could tell me was that it was received on Jan 22 and was processing.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm feeling desperate here!

From what I understand from others, USCIS customer service will not tell you anything except what their website says regarding your case. Also lately, people who have gotten their approval letters in the mail, have not received any updates or emails from USCIS prior to finding the letter in the mail and the website still shows their cases 'pending and processing'. I am sure they know when things are mailed out, they just can't/don't give out any information at all that differs from what you can actually see on their website (which doesn't seem to be being updated lately). I believe we are all just stuck WAITING, which sucks! But...we are all here in the same boat so we may as well lean on each other and try to be supportive.

By the way, I got your message and you can feel free to contact me anytime. I do understand and am feeling the same.

Today I got my 'Constituent Assistance Form' (permission to obtain information on my behalf) from my Congressman's office and filled it out and faxed it back, they should see it Monday. I plan to call then to make sure they have it and find out an estimated time frame for an update.

Our NOA2 came today in the mail dated May23! No email or update from USCIS website and status still shows 'Case received and pending'. Keep faith everyone and keep checking the mail. Good Luck!

CONGRATS!!! very happy for you! i recall you contacting me before and telling me to keep my head up- which was nice of you. I'm very glad you got your paper. it should all be downhill from here-celebrate!!

has anyone on here done a k-1 before? i actually have-twice. the 1st time, a lawyer did it- took a long time it seems but i think it was under 6 months for sure. the marriage didnt work out after a few years- parted on good terms.

2nd time i had an online agency do it for me, also took a long time, but the relationship fizzled before the process was complete and i withdrew the petition. as soon as i did that- here comes the noa2 in the mail. i still cancelled everything. the reason i'm stating this is to say that both times the approvals came in under 6 months time. also those times, which has been within a 7 year time frame, you could actually call USCIS and speak to someone there and not a call center. they didnt have an online system in place to check status either then. I really feel good that some of our fellow Jan filers are getting their approvals- feels less hopeless now. to those of us that havent- hang in there and rely on each other- our 6 months is up soon and hopefully we will all hear something by then

I have submitted what I thought was a correct K-1 but I sent it out Jan. 2nd, received the NOA1 Jan 9th. I haven't received any RFE's but we are coming up on 5 months waiting. Anyways, feel free to ask me for help if need be.

yep- im real happy. i really want all of you guys on here to get yours next! [ saying a prayer for that ] i had to do a RFE and supposedly that adds 24 days of waiting time but that wouldve put me at least at June 22. So thankful it came today though! check those mailboxes......
