Hey everyone, just thought I'd post up some news about my case. IT"S DRIVING ME EFFIN CRAZY!!! I submitted my case and received my NOA1 January 9th. No updates no NOA2 no nothing. I know I have until July 9th before I really start to flip out but there are other cases where people have filed after I have, and received theire NOA2 before I have. I am happy for those people but at the same time I'm like what the heck is going on over there? I know it depends on the immigration officer working on the case working on background checks etc., but I have been in the military for the past 8 years. To top that off, it should be easy to do my background check because I WORK IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. And now, I am up for orders to transfer at any moment to a new duty station. Woe is me.

we filed around the same time and other than getting a RFE, its the same. including the going crazy part. you may have an ace card though, since you are up to be tranferred. who knows , it might work.

Bill & Bea,

I second the motion that this is a cause for concern. Good luck on tracking down that NOA2!

I hope I don't have similar issues, since between the post office & my apt complex office, I struggle to get all of my mail.

I received a letter today from the NVC which states:

"The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place."

It gives me the MNLXXXXX case number.

I have NOT received an NOA2 letter from VSC.

Do I need it for the interview?

Medical?

Is THIS letter enough to get us through at this time?

Thank you for any clarification you can give.

I got my NVC letter before I got my hardcopy NOA2 too. Don't panic yet...I'm sure it will arrive soon. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

im getting to the point i dont even want to check the uscis site anymore...nothing changes anyway, just self torture. maybe if i stop looking for it, it will show up in my mailbox. i know this is wishful thinking but what else do i have? im so happy for those that got theirs, but i worry for those of us that havent...i really hope nothing bad is going on

I just called my Congressman's office and they are going to look into what's going on with my case with VSC and call me back. Hopefully they will be able to shed some light and I also asked for them to please mention that the USCIS website is not being updated or sending any email notifications lately. I will update with anything I find out.

I mentioned to them how many people are seeing people before and after them and even some with same dates (like my case), being approved and that is seems some are being passed by. That the USCIS website is not being updated or sending emails and that we depend on this to know what is happening with our cases. That no one wants their case to be lost or skipped and many people are concerned. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and said that their Senior Case officer from their district office will look into this and call me back within a week. So we will see what I can find out. I told him that of course I am concerned for my own case but for others as well.

In the meantime I hope to see people being approved and things moving along as they should. Good luck to all.

Over the past few days I contacted the offices of both of my senators (they said it's fine to do this). One office promised that in three weeks someone would look into it and send me a letter by (antiquated) mail. I called back the next day and explained that that kind of service is similar to uscis, ie wait several weeks pray everyday for something in your mailbox. The gentleman I spoke to said ok, he was putting into the system at that very moment and a case worker should pick it up in a couple of days.

The other office promised to look into it within a week and send a letter by regular mail, but I could always call and talk to someone to get the latest update. So I will be calling both offices every day to try to get them to work on this.

I was waiting patiently, but it's quite difficult to remain patient: If I lived further west, the California Service center would have had a decision for me serveral months ago (probably). And why do some people wait so long, while others get a decision quickly? Any why isn't it possible to get a status (on line system is broken and we aren't in there, calling does no good)? I worry that tomororw on their site it will say 10 months instead of 6 months, so we should be patient for at least 10 months. So at the very least, we are making our opinions known to our representatives when we ask them for help. But I don't beleive it will make a difference for our case.

I understand your feelings. Try to stay positive though. I know that's hard, believe me I go back and forth in my feelings everyday. But...once this is all done and we are together with our loves, this 4, 6 or even 10 months of waiting will be small compared to the time we will have in our future together. Try to think of that future together and if we can all get through this together, we will get through anything together. I wish you nothing but luck and speed for everyone for love's reunions. ;) Stay as strong as your love for each other. I will try to practice what I preach, lol. ~Jan~
