¥ou are not alone,mstamiz2much...i teter on the edge daily. sometimes i miss her so much, i cant stand it. luckily, im going to see her this weekend and that will make the waiting easier for at least a month, hopefully by then, i will [ and probably you too ] should have our approvals. i've danced this dance before, so i should know better. the best thing i can recommend is to stay busy- it helps pass the time.

Kayj, will you post here your interview date in Nigeria so I can get a feel of how far out the interviews are? I haven't rec my Noa2 yet but believe it's coming soon. I'm hoping it comes this month so my SO can at least get a late July interview. But anyway, please keep me posted on what interview date they give you all. Thanks!

Hey everyone, just thought I'd post up some news about my case. IT"S DRIVING ME EFFIN CRAZY!!! I submitted my case and received my NOA1 January 9th. No updates no NOA2 no nothing. I know I have until July 9th before I really start to flip out but there are other cases where people have filed after I have, and received theire NOA2 before I have. I am happy for those people but at the same time I'm like what the heck is going on over there? I know it depends on the immigration officer working on the case working on background checks etc., but I have been in the military for the past 8 years. To top that off, it should be easy to do my background check because I WORK IN THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY. And now, I am up for orders to transfer at any moment to a new duty station. Woe is me.

This just in........

I am wondering about something maybe you have a answer ... I am trying to figure out why there is such a inconsiestancy on NOA approvals ... I am thinking it is because the US government allots so many visas per month per year etc at and I wonder if this affects how and when applications are approved ... almost like a loto .. or I am way off on my thinking of how they do this .... I know they have some kind of system of how many people can enter on visa ... but I am still trying to figure out exactly how it works hehe

Oh my goodness. Has anyone ever called either a 1-888-988-8678 or 1-877-787-8758 number regarding the status of your case? I was on askjeeves.com and was researching info regarding immigration and it listed these 2 numbers to call and check the status of your case. So I called. It rings the “Immigration Center”. Anyway this guy picked up the phone and I told him I was checking on my case. He asked when I filed and for my receipt number. He then of course told me that it’s a little to early to inquire about it (of course). But he sounded very irritated that I called and asked if I read the instructions on my letter. He was very rude to say the least. He wouldn’t even let me get a word in edge wise before saying something else. Im wondering if I actually got through to USCIS? If anyone has called this number before is this USCIS and not that customer service call center? If so, I hope I didn’t make him mad enough to lose my case. Hopefully not as he wouldn’t even let me speak..

I received a letter today from the NVC which states:

"The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place."

It gives me the MNLXXXXX case number.

I have NOT received an NOA2 letter from VSC.

Do I need it for the interview?

Medical?

Is THIS letter enough to get us through at this time?

Thank you for any clarification you can give.

I've heard that you have to have the NOA2, but im not an authority on it [ congrats , by the way! ] if it was me, i would be calling all over trying to get that NOA2. you dont want to get to teh interview, need it and not have it. with this crazy system, why take a chance and get denied becuz you dont have one form that they didnt send you due to THEIR mistake?! call NVC and see if they can send you a copy if they have it- calling USCIS is pretty useless[ but try anyway ]
