Hi all, my case not completed yet we still need to mail in AOS & IV

waiting on some paperwork

But I have a question, how does the interview schedule date work with nvc?

can someone please explain? thanks

If you filed the AOA package and the IV documents with the NVC, the NVC itself will set up an apointment as early as 1 week after your documents sent to the consulate providing you have no RFE. If you are going with the K-3, the respective consulate where the benificiary is will send you a letter stating that you need to have your Packet 3 and send them in and set up your appointment. The NVC can't cancel your K-3 interviews and the consulate can't cancel your CR1, they are 2 different agency. GOODLUCK!

WaitHatter - So I finally got the tax collectors to sign the Local PCCs, and then the District Police officers signed and stamped them. Now I need both tax collectors to sign the final envelope, which should happen tomorrow(since they both left for the day), and my wife should be able to apply for the Passport PCC by Friday. One step closer, but still feels miles away.

*** EVERYONE READING THIS ***

I called the NVC AVR and told me that they sent me a RFE for missing or incomplete documents. So I called the NVC after 10 minutes online which is typical wait time and asked her what I am missing. The lady told me that I am missing a DS-230, Application for Visa, and I told her that I sent all package today using "CLIP" so there is no way it will get seperated and I spent time and time and time to make sure I got everyhting. So the lady asked me where I sent it and told her at the NVC. Now I even asked her if I should send her another DS230, she told me wait a couple of days and call back to see if the reviewer check my documents and see if I needed anything. I am crossing my finger that I hope there are no more hiccups here. These what I submitted as a cover letter... use your own headline

Great man! I am glad things moving for you. BTW I called mumbai consulate y'day to request them to request my CR1 file from NVC, but unfortunatley they said they cant request files from NVC. They advice me to reschedule my K3 interview to later date and as soon as they will get my CR1 file after NVC assign interview date they will convert my K3 interview into CR1.

That sucks!! It might be worth a try to call NVC and speak to a supervisor to see if they can send the case file, since you have a K-3 interview date, and the consulate has agreed to change it to a CR-1 on arrival of the file.

I decided not to go the K-3 route at all since my wife has exams at the end of march , and we wanted the interview to be after the end of march. Plus with all the hassle that we have gone through, I did not want to even bother adjusting status, and dealing with USCIS again, especially the VSC.

ArubaDolphin - Have you tried getting in touch with your company for the Employment letter? As per the Instructions of the I-864 and I-864EZ the employment letter is not required but it is recommended by folks on VJ.

Are you ready to send your DS-230 to NVC? If No, then you still have time to wait for the employment letter.

You might get asked why you don't have 2006 returns, so you might want to have that explanation as part of your AOS package.

If you have last year and this year as long as he makes enough to cover you and if any dependants financially, you should be good, send it and if they want then they will request for the RFE, you can have that documents in their hand or ur hands, either way... I would just send it...
