I have fallen behind my peers here. I took a couple weeks vacation and so I have gotten behind. Can someone explain how the NVC assigns interview dates? They only do it once a month? So now that I don't have everything in by the second week of February I have to wait until the second week of March for them to schedule my interview? Is that correct? THen when they schedule it they will schedule it for April? Should I try to get everything in the mail monday or take my time because it doesn't matter until March?

Also how does it work if I send all my originals to NVC, what if I decide to have go ahead with my K-3 interview how do I show the embassy the originals if the NVC has them?

Anyone have any idea about whether you would get an RFE or denial if they find your income insufficient on the I-864. I am confused about how they count household numbers and we only have enough income the last of the three years, not the previous two.

Thanks everyone for your help.

The INTERVIEW is assigned by the NVC or CONSULATE in the embassy once the documents are received and reviewed by the embassy. The interviews are only scheduled by the 2nd week of each month, you will get a letter from them. Get them ASAP as possible in the mail so you will have a comfort zone as you may have forgotten something and have to rush to get it. The ORIGINALS and photocopy will be in route with the rest of your paperwork. It is always better to get an extra copy or certificate copies of your documents. Counting household is 1 and 1= 2. One for your yourself and one for the person your filing for. If you have other dependant that you are supporting add 1 for each additonal person. For two people, yourself and the person you are petitioning with the poverty level as follows; for

2= $17,500; for 3-= 22,000; for 4= 26,500. If you can't meet those Poverty Line, you will be denied or put you case on hold until ypu can prove that ypu can support the 2 of you. Also if you can't, then you will have to ask for a co-petitioned for the income purpose. Goodluck... I may off a few line here but thats what I know.

YES so in case for some reasons window is opened and winds blew your paperwork, they need to know whom those paperworks belong. Then staple it together too... you have read the James or Leng shortcut, it helps...

How did you find out that the AOS (affidavit of Support) had been reviewed and accepted. I've called NVC a couple of times and every time I have been told that it takes 2-4 weeks to review the AOS. All they can tell me is that it has been received....

Hello all....I just joined VJ, however have been reading postings to help with my case....

have just gotten my K3 Interview date at bombay consulate for april 3....yay....

I wanted to know...

1. my I-130 case with NVC, seems to be stalled....I had hired an attorney, so they sent him the bills for the AOS....ofcourse now I cannot get the invoice number from him...since his speech to me is...just get ready for the K3 interview for now, and don't worry about NVC for now...

How can I get a hold of the invoice numbers so that I can pay them online??

2. Is it better for me to disregard the I-130 process for now and just go ahead with the K3 interview???

Please give me your thoughts....

thanks

I can't answer that foer you because it will be your personal choice. As far as IIN , you can try calling the NVC and get the IIN if you can, try to call them after the business hours just be nice to them, hehe. If you in a hurry and want ur spouse next to u go with the K3 but most of the time now, the CR1 visa almost caught up with the K3 visa. Its more of a personal preference.
