My fiance and I have applied for our k1 Visa and recieved NOA1 as of June 26th 2008.We have sent all the paperwork, photos, evidience, and marriage agreements signed by both of us.How is it that it has been 6 months and not even the NOA2 has been recieved. We would like to know how many applications for the k1/k3 visas are also waiting for their NOA2 from the Vermont Center. The official website of the USCIS has stated since November they are reviewing up to March 8, 2008. Although there are many here who claim they have either recieved their NOA2 or got the whole process approved in December and they appiled after we did. Anyone else in this situation from this particular office? Also is certain countries such as mine in the Philippines delayed particiuliarly as other countries are much faster?

This is very frustrating and it seems no one can help us at the Vermont Center until they are officially reviewing the June 26 2008 applications. Please let us know how many more out there are waiting or if any resolutions to improve on this? Thank you for your time!

You're not alone! There are others out here still waiting with the same timeframe. My son's NOA1 was June 19. rec'd a touch June 24, and nothing since. We should be hearing really soon. I'm really hoping that we should all be hearing something within the next 2 weeks or so. They were behind about 6-1/2 months, with the holidays, I figure they are REALLY behind now.

This is sooooo awful! I'm sorry for you. USCIS is not doing their job. There needs to be some sort of explanation of why some cases go through in 3-4 months while others take much longer. USCIS says they treat cases on a first come, first serve basis and while we can all understand a few days of variable, this is just unfair. If they have looked at your case and there is a problem or reason it's taking longer, they should communicate that. What is the reason for their lack of transparency? I called USCIS the other days and mentioned to an officer that I had seen that I knew of two people who's applied after me for the same visa from the same service center who had already received their NOA2. I mentioned USCIS's claim that they work first come first serve and the officer told me that was true but some cases were more straight forward than others and take less time to process. Okay, again, perhaps a few days or a week or two, but months and months? What's up with that? Is it just total lack of organization? Are their really just a bunch of processing officers who sit on their butts and do nothing while others work hard? What's the deal? And who holds them accountable? Can we as a collective of people with a complaint? Any ideas?

Otherwise, best of luck to you. Contact your congresspeople and senators, be nice with them and show evidence of people who have been approved. Perhaps there are people here who who would be willing to offer you their receipt numbers to prove that there are so many cases approved while yours sits around.

Unfortunately, Cham, another problem with USCIS is their lack of updating their information. While 6 months is the processing time posted for CSC, for VSC they have their k-1 processing times listed as March 7th (they haven't updated this for months). This gives them a constant excuse and officers will readily quote you that date. That said, I agree, contact congressmen!

Hello,

as Chadherm mentioned...I am one of the June filers waiting too. There are quite a few of us plus it seems to me there are also a lot of beginning July filers stuck with us. Don't know what happened with our cases.

Try to contact your congressmen or senators. Sometimes they can have a pull but don't expect too much. Look at my comments in my timeline. We are trying anything. USCIS keeps telling us we have been assigned to an officer mid-November. Don't know what the he** is taking so long. I would think we are a straight forward case as we have no kids involved, were never married before, are not from high fraud countries, have blank records and I even had a J1 Visa before in 2001 for the US and have never been back there again since 2004 even though I could have used Visa waiver to just come in....

Whenever we have tried to talk to USCIS we have been contantly disappointed. They are so not willing to help. Went to two infopass appointments. Both wanted to always tell us that they are processing March 7 and everything else is a lie. One lady gave in and looked our file up and told us we were assigned to an officer and are not in AP. The next time my fiancé went there, another officer told him that they don't even have that info in their system. When he replied that this is strange since " last time they could give that info when he was there" the lady all of a suddenwas able to look up our file in the system. They are all a bunch of liars. The call center agents have just been trained to read info off of their webpage. Nothing else they can do. Oh yeah, they can file a service request on your behalf after 180 days of waiting. What it actually is though, is just the same information you'd get at an infopass appointment any time in a local USCIS office.

So, if you really want to find out whether your case got hung up in security checks, I would try an infopass appointment. Other than that we can just sit back and wait until we lose more and more precious time with our loved ones.

Good luck!

This is ridiculous. I have no clue how this is acceptable. In the very least, USCIS needs to EXPLAIN the delay. There needs to be more transparency and more information throughout the process. :bonk:

Just type in "(your state), senator" in google and you'll get to the webpage of one of your senators. Fill out their privacy release they have there and send it to them. Follow up with a call a week later to make sure they got it. You will hear from them 2 weeks later. Don't expect too much though.
