In the end its all relative. When one side is fighting a very militarily unmatched war, the weaker side will resort to all sorts of tactics to either gain an advantage, or resist and create problems for the occupying army.

i don't recall american revolutionaries in their fight against the british destroying non-military/political targets.

i don't recall american supported guerilla units in conflict with nazi germans destroying non-military/political targets.

true guerilla warface involves befriending the indigenous people and destroying military targets with minimal collateral damage.

a guerilla warrior will be to the benefit of the local people, by removing an oppressive government, rahter than a hazzard to the people.

islamic terrorists are not guerilla warriors. they are feminissed sociopaths willing to injure innocents to acheive their own objectives in terms of wealth and power.

Its all relative, Since you're a conservative American, you see the actions done by Hamas as terrorism, and the actions done by Israel as necessary for its security. If you were an average person living in Gaza, would you feel the same? As it is, anyone living in Gaza, reguarless if you are part of Hamas, is living in poverty, with thier movment and trade complelty controlled by Israel.

In this conflict, there is no right side or wrong side. Each side has committed atrocities in the name of freedom or security. The US has put itself in a position of enabling it, instead of resolving it.

most people living in the strip are impoverished. they are impoverished because their leadership is driving around in new benz and shacking with russian hookers imported from israel. they bought the benz and the hookers with UN money, mostly extorted from America in the name of "relief", rather than using it in the interests of most of the people. it's called corruption, and is the norm in most countries.

you and i will never agree on this, because i have seen "it", and you have not. because i have seen this kind of thing up close and personal, i have low tolerance for it. because it's all theoretical for you, you will expect that "if everybody just had a decent chance, they would be decent people". truth is, they will not.

How many bags of rice do you think the Benz dealer will trade for a new Benz?

[quote name='*Len*' post='2529078' date='Jan 6 2009,

my wife and i were watching the 5th (?) season of "24" last night. in the opening episode a series of terrorist attacks are occuring in the US. my wife asked me if it was possible that 20 terrorist attacks could occur in the US over a period of weeks. i told her that i could imagine no more than 3 as possible before vigilanteeism solved the problem. this is just how we do it in America. gung ho!

Wow. Racist much?

funny how people are unwilling to admit that 95% of terrorist acts are commited by middle eastern islamic men of 18-35 years of age, and that 95% of people who catch them are anglo WASP's of 30-50 years age.

is it racist to acknowledge a statistic that cannot be disputed?

Flavor of the month terrorist statistics...perhaps, but not historically...and the number one reason why we have seen a surge in radical Islamic fundamental terrorists has more to do with geo-political factors rather than born out of religious zealotry. It's the neo-cons who've tried to sell the religious zealotry argument but thankfully, most of the world and most Americans no longer are buying that line.

Religious people are easier to brainwash. Just look in the mirror, Stevo.

To correct you somewhat, I think its more accurate to say that in the absence of education people tend to turn to religion to fill the gap. They become victim to extreme ideologies not just because its all there is, but because through those religious institutions they can get work, a roof over their heads or a hot meal.

I don't think its any coincidence that the cannon fodder extremists tend to be of mean and impoverished backgrounds.

The leader of the 7/7 bombers was university-educated. So was Khalid Sheikh Mohammed who planned 9/11.

So was Osama bin Laden.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Ok Justashooter, I respect you. Thanks for sharing your position a little more in depth.

However, the argument you used which I read as you don't have sympathy for Gazans because their leadership are hypocritical, powerful, money grubbing war mongers. I have the same problem with ALL world leaders who aren't used to thinking in terms of what is actually beneficial for the populace, they follow their own agenda on whichever corrupted data they choose to listen to. Well my argument is, these men are ruining the world and causing more people to be dominated into doing things for their 'gov't' that they would normally never imagine.

Do you feel that all the things you went through in your service actually helped a single world problem? Do you not agree that there must be a better way then armed warfare?
