Hi folks,

I am applying to remove conditions on my residency after my AOS status expires later this year, 2009, and I need some help. what are the documents that are helpful for the proof of evidence? what do I do with the cards and letters addressed to my wife and I? Do I need to give out photocopies of the actual letters,cards or just the envelop with the address? We have some docs in both names and other bills in my wife's name. Do we include bills in my wife's or my name as well, beside what we do have in both names ? Any other information deemed fit for this purpose would be welcome. :blush:

Copies to be sent:

#1 - GC front and back.

A must:

- D/L of both showing common address;

- tax returns from all years you've been married;

- lease of all years and/or mortgage deed;

- marriage license

Important:

- joint bank checking and/or saving accounts; send copies of statements spanning the time you've been married; choose 4/5 from each year; send old, new and in-between ones.

- health/life insurance statements and/or cards

- utility bills showing both or each one of your names. Some bills on your name, some bills on your spouse's name, some on both your names. The important thing is that all the bills must be showing common address. Again, send bills selected at random from all years you've been married.

- birth certificates of children (if applicable)

- all mail you've got from USCIS, like the old I-130 and I-485 receipt notices, I-485 approval, the green card mailer, etc.

Will help:

- mail addressed to each and/or both of you showing common address. You can include official and even junk mail, e.g. credit cards offers, greeting cards addressed to both of you for special occasions. We sent copies of the envelopes, some of them showing only my name, some other envelopes showing only my wife's, some showing both our names. We also sent copies of the greeting cards we got from family and friends.

- plane tickets of trips together,

- a selection of wedding pics; pics w friends, from trips... send only copies...

- club membership cards of both of you, again always showing common address...

... and anything you think can be evidence of you both living together since you've been married.

... just an idea.

Good luck!

Good list. I never saw anything about sending in a marriage license, though. That doesn't seem too necessary at this point, but who knows with USCIS? :)

Hi Franlocks,

In answer to your post, and to give you more ideas, this is a list what I submitted as additional "joint evidence" for my I-751 application (Removal of Conditions) that I filed for last year in August:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=118868&hl=

For cards and letters, submitting photocopies is good enough. You don't need the contents of the letters and cards itself. Rather, what's important here, is to show the joint names and joint addresses, so probably just the envelope with both names and the same address is ok to submit. For other bills and documents, try to include as many as you can that are in both joint names and joint adresses, and highlight this joint fact accordingly. If there are some documents in separate names, send them both in as well, and highlight the address and names, and if need be, explain why these documents are not in both joint names and/or both joint addresses. For original documents (such as affidavits), these will have to be original copies and not photocopies. Do not alter and/or highlight original and/or notarized documents, as that can be seen unfavourably as tampering with evidence.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey too.
