Every country is different. In Cambodia, the deputy issued an engagement certificate as a proof of being engaged. but if you have engagement ring recpt, it be helpful too.

Like other poster said it changes some from country to country depending on the embassy. We just sent a letter signed by each of us saying we intend to marry, and I sent her a new letter of intent for her to take to embassy with her. Good Luck sounds like you covered about all you can now just have to sit and wait. No1 isnt bad but Noa2 seems like years even tho it was only a little over 4 months for us. Everything sped up after we got Noa2 and moved pretty fast.

I like your list! It is a nice checklist to work from. I do have a concern though...I'm getting ready to send off my I-129F next week and I did not realize that I needed to submit a "Beneficiary Certificate of Single". Unless I'm missing something I don't see this requirement in the I-129F instructions. I only see a reference to me, the applicant, having to supply proof AND only if I had been married before (which I was, and am submitting a copy of my divorce decree). My fiance has never been married and therefore will have no proof to show of divorce, annulment, or otherwise.

So, the Certificate of Single is certainly a good idea and perhaps a smart thing to include in the I-129F packet, but is it actually required???

Best of luck with your application!!!
