I am going to get married in April in dominican republic. What is the process to bring spouse to usa? (I am a us citizen) or Which one is faster as a spouse or fiance? Please provide detailed information because right now I am clueless as to what to do. Will be greatly appreciated. Thanks... :help:

My advice, come to get marry in April and then apply for a CR-1, it takes around 1 year the whole process but when your SO arrives there he/she will receive the green card in the mail in around 1 month allowing he/she to work. I didn´t know about it before applying for the K1.

Read the guides and it will give a better idea about what to do. Good luck and remember to keep as much evidence as possible.

fiance(e) because you can file today and get a jump start on the USCIS.... it will howver hamper your marriage plans in the DR... Understand the differences in the visa types is very important. Once you do, then you must decide what positives and negatives are critical to you and which visa most closely fits your situation

YMMV
