When riding a bicycle at night the bicycle should have a white headlight visible for how many feet??

I thought the exam was to help you pass to drive a motor vehicle NOT a bicycle :-p

Its in MPH here not KM but thats ok lol we do MPH in England so I do not have much trouble with that side of the driving test. I have just come back from a drive, Jon is teaching me and he is quite patient with me.

These questions are all on the test in Washington State, some of them I just gaped at :o:wacko:

Oh gawd, I have been starting to worry about this as my green card interview is in less than a month. I think in OK once you have that you have to get an OK license and we are unclear as to whether or not I have to take a test.

Just a quick tip...I didn't know the answers for sure(the 1/2 mile or the 500 feet one) but if you don't know...ALWAYS err on the side of caution(for example, those two questions..the answer was the longest distance to be looking ahead and the longest distance to see the bike from) It is *usually* always the "safety* answer on the test if you know what I mean...just thought that might help! :) M.

Also, I don't know what works for you guys, but I HAVE to use word association on my tests for school. For those examples I would have kept in mind the terms "500 bike lights" and "10 second watch"(like..10 seconds of looking ahead..or watching) or something stupid. Even if it sounds like it would be just as much to remember, you would be surprised in that just sitting there for a couple of seconds THINKING about the phrase to remember it by helps in itself to bring it back to your mind...esp. on a multiple choice test. Good luck! :)

I found the site driversed was great for practicing for the written test - it costs about $10 for 50 tests and it's state specific - I'd try this.

Lots of the questions actually came up on the exam I did and I passed first time. It beat having to read the manual over and over again. I just used that for the road signs.

Give it a go !

I have been driving in England for more than 20 years and have never before taken a written driving test, OMG some of the flipping questions are so out of whack, I have taken it twice now and failed I did not realise it was so hard. Some of you might say what is the problem, well the problem to me is I have never driven on the wrong side of the road, I have never gone through a red light, I have never ever got a ticket for anything. Now I have to retain information from a book which I personally have difficulty doing. As things stand I will probably take the test a few more times before I actually pass the damn thing. So I thought I would ask you all a few of the questions to see what you know lol.

Oh Janice i am so glad its not just me, my Husband thinks i'm nuts, as he thinks its much harder to frive in England(not that he did)!!

I have driven for 20 years same as you, and its hard to make the changes

Yep Jon says "why can't you do it, it must be much harder in England" I says " I did'nt have to do the damn test in England, it was that flipping long ago"

So i thought why not do some kind of test on VJ maybe some other members can come up with some real questions that were on the test they did.

I have to agree, the US written test is hard. To come to another country and drive is bad enough but its so much harder as we havent grown up knowing all the rules and regulations of US roads. I failed my written test by one question the first time around and could immediately retest. I passed second time. Most of the questions are facts and figures which you wouldnt know through common sense, you would only know through reading the book. If its any consolation, the driving test is easier than the written test. I passed mine a few weeks ago after driving in the UK. Good Luck.
