The Israeli govt vowed to "destroy" hamas a few years ago. That seems to have turned out real well.

Its hard not to laugh at this situation, out of sheer exasperation. This is an ancient world war playing out in the modern time. The difference of course is that back then you could completely annihilate your enemy.

Granted there isn't any ideal solution to the dispute, but continuing to do the same thing over and over and over again is just beyond farce.

About the only assured thing is...Israel's turning them all into martyrs.

The strategy is always to put enough pressure on then Palestinians that they blame hamas and not the israeli security forces. It never works.

Problem is the rest of the world and the U.N. "pipes in" all the time with "Oh lets get a cease fire agreed to". And we all know how well hamas keeps their end of that deal.

Let the rest of the world butt out and let Israel settle this once and for all.

How would they do that?

Do what they're doing now without Big Brother somewhere stopping them.

If they were victorious in the 1967 - 6 Day War and the 1973 - Yom Kippur war they can take care of what they have to do as long as the rest of the World keeps out of it and let them finish what they have planned.

You mean to tell me if some foreign force come over kill/bomb your family even though they had nothing to do with what's happening. Their crime was to be born a palestinian? back then when Hitler was doing the cleansing was it a crime to be a Jew? Both side has to side down and really discuss the issues, it wasn't resolved in 1967 and it's not going to be resolved now, all it does it creates more LOONEYS who will go out to avenge their families death, turning them into Martys, it's always very easy for someone on the outside to point fingers.

What would you do if someone came over bomb your house, kill your mother, your father, your sister, it's been thousand years ago when Jesus Christ was on earth preaching forginess, after all we are all human and it doesn't take much for someone to snap.

What would you do if someone kill your mother? Would you just say let it to those Israeli soldiers who kill your folks God Bless you, He will judge you on the last day, or How many of us would try to find a way to get a little pay back?

The sad thing for a nation who has suffered so much in the past under the nazi regime, turn around and have their own little camps right in their backyard.

I'm a pretty literal person and reading that I actually agree. Take EVERYONE else out of the equation, remove all AID to both sides and once they're on equal standings military wise then let them duke it out. That's what I call a war, two countries fighting with equal opportunity to obtain weapons, etc. What's happening now is a massacre since obviously Israel has not only it's own fighting power but the backing of the US.

I can't help what hamas is doing to their own people. Who voted them in. Sure hell wasn't me, you or Israel.

Of course they have the backing of the U.S......

The U.S., Israel and other countries see Hamas as terrorists.

Now take EVERYONE out of the equation and Israel with their own technology that they have and have had for many many years will take care of what they have to take care of

And please don't tell me the U.S. as the U.S. (President Johnson) and also France both put arms embargo's on Israel during this time.

However, the good old USSR kept on supplying the Arab Nations with arms during this time

were that the case, hamas wouldn't have any rockets to shoot at israel. or do you think they manufacture those all by themselves?
