we'll see... i'm willing to wait and give him a chance for the time being.

but i do wonder if this economy is going to get much worse before i gets better.

i can't stay in my ####### job forever... if the sh*t really hits the fan, i might just have to open up that lemonade stand in Western Sahara.

To his credit, he is not even in office yet, so really there is nothing for him to do at this point. Plus, i think in reality, any big "changes" are going to take time. But i do hear what you are saying... some of his appointments and some of the things being said are a bit perplexing...

Yup... look at the right wingers pounce on Obama before he's even in office, yet they consistently gave one of the worst administrations in history a pass. The country needs unity of effort, not partisan rhetoric.

I beleive the pouncing your speaking of was based on WHAT HE SAID! Sheesh. Your preaching non-patisanship while being partisan, very typical of your ilk.

Nice try, but 0/10 (complete failure). You are all sitting there analyzing every single word Obama speaks to find anything you can to create controversy that doesn't exist... (e.g. save or create vs. save and create). If you clowns had been 1/100th as critical of Bush as you are of Obama you would have some credibility, but your bias is blatant.

Exactly. The "change or save" thing reeks of a Republican.

It wreaks of "politician"

in summary, so much for change.

This from the guy that started the thread "Liberals Voice Concerns Over Obama". Apparently no matter what Obama does the Right Wingers are critical of his actions. Again the same group of posters have consistently given a truly awful President a pass, over & over. If that isn't hypocrisy I don't know what is.

Buy American Plan probably means to invest in American infrastructures, etc...And, maybe to create treasury bonds, bills, notes that gives higher yield compared to other investments like the WW2 bonds.

The best plan for economic recovery would be for the government to do absolutely nothing.

Anyone who actually thinks our economy can get better through government intervention should look no further than the Hoover and Roosevelt administrations.

That's why I see the best government lineup as congress consisting primarily of the opposite party that the president is a member of. In general, the more gridlock there is in government, the less they'll interfere.

Not necessarily. They will come to some sort of bipartisan agreement to intervene in the economy somehow, and this recession will be made to be as long and painful as possible.

The Republican Congress will likely concede to Obama's make-work schemes, as long as a nice big subsidy for big business is thrown into the bill.

Translation: Bush sucked but because I'm a right winger I will blindly support him. Meanwhile since Obama isn't a right winger I will criticize everything he does, even before he gets into office. To further muddy the waters I will imply that all Obama supporters regard him as the Messiah (which is ironic to say the least because I have blindly supported a crappy President).

yes, saving and creating are two different things.

would have been more heartening if she said, "save and create" not "save or create"

It turned into "save or create" shortly after he won.

noticed that, too...

In his radio address today, President-elect Obama uses some new language when discussing what he wants the stimulus package to achieve in terms of jobs. First off, he has a name for the package -- the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan."

The president-elect says he wants to "create three million new jobs" -- this is a change from a few weeks ago, when he said he wanted the plan to create OR SAVE two million jobs.
