Hi all,

I have a quick question, for those of you who were transferred to the CSC, how were you notified? Did you get a notice through the mail? Did you receive an email? Were you notified of the transfer?

I received the following email:

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On June 6, 2006, we transferred your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status to an office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER for processing. Our office in CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER will send you a written decision as soon as processing is complete. You should receive a notice informing you that your case has been transferred to a local office.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision or advice from USCIS within the projected processing time frame*, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

*The projected processing time frame can be found on the receipt notice that you received from the USCIS.

Just to clarify: this is for an AOS transfer to CSC, NOT a I-129F petition. Your post is in the AOS forum, but you haven't filled in your timeline so I don't know where in the process you are.

I received both an email and a written notice of the transfer. At the very least, I think you should get a written notice.

I received 3 consecutive emails and then a few days later, an 'official' letter arrived via snail mail.

We got an e-mail notice and a paper notice in the mail a few days later. Several days after that, we got an e-mail notice that the application was received at CSC.

I got 3 e-mail saying it was trasfered and a mailed letter to say it was trasfer. 2 e-mails saying CSC received it and I assume a mailed letter soon to follow.

I received 3 emails saying my file had been received at California October 1, 2005 followed by the written notice saying the same thing. Then, about 6 weeks later I received another 3 emails saying the file was being transferred to California September 20th, 2005.

Thanks everyone. Your information has been very handy and may help us with our motion to re-open our case. We were never told that our case had been transferred to the CSC. We didn't receive an email or a letter. So, we didn't know that we should have received a letter scheduling our interview. In fact, the only communication we received from the CSC was a letter denying our AOS because we didn't turn up to our interview. At least now I feel a little better ie: I know that we missed at least two important communications from them.

Cross your fingers and hope that they will re-open our case.

we received an email yesterday...I assume a written letter was put in the mail as well

We just received emails ... no mailed letter. We did get the Welcome Letter in the mail 2 months after we were transferred.

I'm sorry to hear about your AOS denial. It's strange that you were transferred to CSC and still expected to attend an interview. My understanding is that a majority of the cases adjudicated by CSC are done so without interview.

Of course, you never received an interview letter or a transfer notice, so something is definitely wrong. Are you saying that the denial letter came directly from the CSC and that is how you found out you were transferred? I would definitely make an Infopass appointment to get to the bottom of this. They should be willing to re-open your case since you are not at fault here.
