Does anyone know of an accredited translation agency in Alexandria, Egypt where I can get my marriage certificate translated?

I had it translated once, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here in Alex wouldn't notarize it.

They have a few offices around Alexandria.

I remember u told me that u didnt have ur english translation notarized though.. it clearly states on the embassy website, that after ur marriage certificate is translated into english, u must have it notarized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then authenticated at the embassy.

I got it translated by a recognized translator here in Alex, nadoury & nahas... took it to the FA.. and they wouldnt accept it, they told me to go to the Ministry of Justice in Cairo and have it done....

Soooo.. I dont know , suppose I will have to go back and take it up with the FA ;)

Did they reject it because of who did the translation???? I'm confused...

I would NOT recommend Al Manar Translation in Alex... they #1 don't comprehend the term "verbatim" and #2 they don't remember to SIGN their translations!

H had his divorce papers "authenticated/stamped" by the Foreign Affairs Ministry but it was the arabic original they authenticated, not a translation.

Good luck... avoid Al Manar.. ;) If I EVER get my hands on them.... ;)

We've had ours translated twice and neither one of them even remotely resemble "verbatim."

I know! What's with those guys??? I finally gave up and my friend do it here.... you don't need a "professional" translator to do it. You just have to put the statement of credibility or whatever on it. The idiot at Al Manar kept refusing to translate the verbage on the stamps. That cost us an RFE that slowed our K-1 process by months! I should have had her do it from the get go.. worst part Hubby kept defending they guy at Al Manar saying " he knows, he's a PROFESSIONAL"... like the USCIS knows the content of arabic stamps, and shouldn't need them translated... UGH.

LOL, I think our arabic speaking husbands think, USCIS can read arabic! everytime there is an issue concerning translation, My husband will say something to the effect of... "oh, that doesn't have to be translated, or Im sure the embassy can read it, we r filing in Cairo Jill" LOL ... I am sure he will learn fast, hes dealing with US now, and not Egypt!

Check with the embassy for the country you need the document translated from. Claudeth had a German police clearance needing translation and she went to the German embassy and they sent her to accredited translators who had the forms and everything.
