What makes it interesting is they are total opposites who started out getting on each other's nerves.

I love that scene from wedding singer too. My husband and I really like the scene in The Holiday where Cameron Diaz's character and the guy are laying under the tent with his 2 daughters and hold hands. I just like quiet moments. The notebook is just one big love fest :) The end when he lays next to her is the best.

I'd say The Terminator from 1984.

How can that be anything but a romantic movie? Kyle Reese (the soldier from the future) willingly goes back in time (with no way to get back) in order to fight the T-800 because he wanted to meet Sarah Conner. John Conner had given Reese a picture of Sarah and Reese later stated that he "memorized every line and curve of her face." He protects her all through the movie, getting shot and arrested, in addition to eventually sacrificing himself when up against the T-800 in order to help Sarah get away.
