Since Ring Ring continued to work while waiting for the CR-1, she retained her maiden name.

After case complete at NVC, she resigned.

After her interview, she had her name changed....that is, they put in an endorsement page indicating her new married name.

We went to the SSA office to apply for a card....at first they wanted to see a marriage certificate, because the Visa says her maiden name "Ring Ring".

We showed them several credit cards, insurance card, and then the endorsement page that had her married name "Ring LING".

They said, "we don't care about the credit cards and insurance card, but the endorsement will do".

They took our application, photocopied everything, and said we'd get the card.

Today I received a letter from SSA indicating that she must follow-up with immigration to have her name changed before they can issue the SS card and number.

Anyone have any experience with this? Should I contact USCIS (that's my guess) or NVC?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Holi-####### Immigration Man. I think we can wait a while.

Now remind me...do we get to remove conditions after being married for 2 years, or 2 years after POE?

Thanks for your fast answer.

Since we're not worried about her working, I think we can hold off on the name change, and use the extra bucks at Disneyland.

See what happens when I wait to ask a question
