Had my interview this morning in NYC 26 Federal Plaza, everything went well. I was in at 8:30am was called in at 10:30am. The lady was from Eastern European decent, very professional and nice at the same time. at the end I signed some papers and she told me to wait outside, after approximatively 2 hours my name was called at the window and I was given the oath letter. My oath will be on June 12th in Brooklyn. I can't believe this process has been so quick and painfree so far.

Thanks to everyone for the inputs and sharing. Next stop the oath followed by the passport!!!

Congratulations! :dancing::dancing: What sentence she ask you to write?

Then she was given a paper with some instructions about the swearing in ceremony on May 19th. and items that she must take to the Oath Ceremony.

Now this is the confusing thing for me. On the front of the form it asks that she bring with her:

Permanent Resident card - no problem

Reentry permit or refugee travel document - doesn't apply?

ANY IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTS THAT YOU MAY HAVE????? -only about 10,000,000 of them. I'll get a hernia if I have to lift that many and I'll probably need a truck to carry them.

I have no idea what they want because it does state on the form that the items requested on the front are to be given to the USCIS employee at the Oath Ceremony and that you may be questioned further on your answers at that time.

I don't think that this has been queried before but if it has I appologize. But if anyone has some insight I will welcome your comments .

Thanks

They are talking about any immigration documents you get between the interview and the oath. Otherwise, just bring the oath letter and green card.

Buckeye, I wanted to amend my answer. You should take your passport if it has any U.S. visas you might once have obtained, and any other INS/USCIS approvals or permits (such as old Employment Authorization documents). They probably won't ask for any of this, but I just read somewhere what "immigration documents" they are talking about.

The above is not legal advice.

It is either from research or merely my opinion.

Hello! I Hope that everyone is having a great day! Well I had my interview today and I feel really dissapointed and almost heart-broken. I arrived to my interview on time, answered all of my questions correctly, and passed both the English and the History/Civics tests. The Interviewing officer was really nice and everything seemed to be going well when suddendly he tells me:

" A decision cannot be made today" and he gave me a paper saying that they need to wait for my FBI Name check to clear.

As I exited the office I saw that all of the other people who were in that same waiting room made their way to the oath ceremony except for me. I thought that the USCIS schedules interviews once they get all clearances from the FBI and after they complete all of the necessary background checks. I really don't understand what happened and I feel like I will get denied. I have read all of the nightmares about the FBI name checks being delayed for years and my gut feeling tells me that USCIS is going to deny my petition. I feel so lost right now and seeing the other people take the oath today really got to me. Perhaps I have to start getting used to the idea that I won't become a US citizen anytime soon.

Good Luck to the rest of You!

P.S. Something tells me that the Immigration Officer was not being completely honest with me.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I read somewhere that the biometrics results has got nothing to do with the interview schedule in some cases.

Keep your hopes up. Anything can happen as far as FBI name checks. Do you have a fairly common name?

Hello nocturnabeat, I am sorry you feel so down.

But, you should not worry that much. It has been a common issue lately with people getting to their interview day while their name check is not completed.

Read this link, the worse case scenario is that by the end of June2009, 98% of name check will be cleared within 30 days:

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Also after June 2009, even if your name is Osama **** , your name check will be done in 90 days. And since you applied months ago, you should be fine and cleared if you did nothing wrong.

I hope this helps.

Good luck

You will be fine since you did the interview already you could go to court after 120 days if you have not received your oath. In my case my interview were cancelled twice.

Sorry, I post this one in the wrong thread. I am supposed to post it in March thread. My priority date is in March, not January. Just leave a copy here anyhow.

Just want to share with you guys my 2 cents. Hope it'll help when you call uscis.

I've just used the instruction on www.go2human.com to call uscis at 5:25 PM today. I didn't think anybody will pick up the phone at this late hour, but I gave it a shot anyway. It went through almost immediately and I was able to talk to both a representative and a data analyst. Looks like nobody call uscis after 5:00 PM.

First, I told the representative that I got a yellow letter from uscis 02 weeks ago, requesting me to bring "...." to the interview. I have been longing for the interview letter but still have not received it yet. So, she told me to hold on, she would transfer me to the data analyst, or something like that.

When connected to the analyst, I told him the same statement as to the representative. He asked for my green card number, looked up data and told me everything was fine and hurried to get me off the phone. So I asked if he could give me a few seconds to explain my case. I tried to win his sympathy, telling him that my co-worker and I are state employees (which is true), both of us filed for naturalization about the same time, and he got his interview letter almost 2 weeks ago, but I still haven't got my yet. So he started asking me about my address, date of birth... to verify my identification before informing me that my interview letter was sent out this morning, and I will be scheduled for interview in "city", July "date", at 7:30... Then "I am so happy to hear this", "thank you so much", "I appreciate your help"...

Now I will wait till friday to see if I get my letter or I have to call them again.
