hello, guys im done with my interview ! Ok, so here's what happen... We got there 30mins early. So, the Officer call my name, we went inside, he introduce his name and then asked for identification (greencard, passport, state id or driving license). We go through my N-400 application, the questions that you have to answer Yes or No (that part). Then he asked me to sign some papers. Then he said lets proceed to the test, did you study, a little bit??? so i just smiled at him, he is making me feel comfortable, and it really helps. He did not changed any wordings while asking me the questions, it is the same on how it was written on test. I got the first 6 questions correct so we stop from there. He asked me to read/write something (just one sentence). Then he said congratulations, you passed ! I will be going back to take my Oath tomorrow.

The whole process takes me less than 3 months. Goodluck to everybody, if they tell you they need this and that, just give it to them...

Congrats Brenton!!!

I have my interview coming up in eight days I know all the? But I am praying that everything goes smoothly. I am so nervous: :crying::crying::crying::crying:

Good Luck Marchlyne, I am sure you will be fine!

DoxAtl,

I wont forget it, in fact, I just got back home (first thing I did was to share my exp with ya'll B) ). Ok, my appointment was at 9:05am, so I headed there early this morning, got there around 7:20am... waited until 8:15 to enter (practice questions, double check papers, etc meanwhile). So got there, checked in, no problems.... around 9:20 am I was called, and a very respectful IO asked me the questions: Selective Services, # Senators, State that borders Canada, What is Freedom of Religion, When the Const was written, and the last one I cant remember but it was not hard at all. He asked me for the basic stuff: Resident Card, Passport, DL, and that was it. I offered taxes, selective service proof, but he said he did not need them. So, the end result I was approved and scheduled to take the oath at 2:30 today. However, later today the system went down, and I was a very few of the lucky ones that had the certificate printed out before the system problem. The did a smaller than normal ceremony, and reschedule the other people until a later date ( they could not give one because the system was down) Left there around 4:00pm. So good luck to everyone and please do not hesitate to ask if you have questions...

Of course... last but not least... thank you to all for your guidance through this process. Now, I new journey begins to request my fiancee.

PS: DoxATL, I hope you hear good news from you soon!

The above is not legal advice.

It is either from research or merely my opinion.

I had my interview on April 16 in Oklahoma. It went smoothly.

I arrived 15 minutes early but waited for at about 2 hours because there were two other interviewees. My husband and my 20-month-old son were able to sit with me in the waiting area for the whole time. That was nice. For the interview, only I was allowed to enter the office room.

The Visa Officer was super sweet and apologized for the wait. The interview was very easy and pleasant. She only asked for my passport and green card and none of the other materials I prepared for the interview. She mainly read through the whole N-400 form and I just need to agree with the answers.

The civic test was printed on a piece of paper. I think they have several set of questions to choose from. My test was easy: no names, no numbers. The questions included “What is the capital city of Oklahoma”, “Who can declare war”, etc. You just need to answer 6 out of the 10 questions right. The Officer wrote a whole bunch of words down after each question. I think she was writing down my answers.

The English test was reading out the sentence “Where is the White House?” and then the Officer provided the answer and I wrote it down “The White House is in Washington D.C.” --Piece of cake, isn’t it?

Then she asked me to write my name on 2 photos and sign some forms and then she said “Congratulations”. She gave me the piece of paper saying I was recommended for the oath and told me to wait for the oath appointment letter in the near a few months. I asked for the same-day oath. She said they do not have enough manpower to do it. So same-day oath is for situations like if you are in the military and are going to be deployed soon. But she was very sweet to tell me usually they do the oath ceremony in the court house on the last Friday of every month, Or if there are not enough people for the ceremony then they will do it in the USCIS office and it will be on the 3rd Thursday (or Wednesday? I don’t remember now) of the month.

I still have not received the oath appointment letter yet. So the earliest it can be would be at the end of May. She said they are pretty caught up with their cases. She also said for the ceremony the judge does not really like people wearing jeans.

Good luck to you all. This N-400 January filers’ thread has been most helpful for my application and interview. Thank you.
