hello forum members

back in may I filed the I-129f, and in november my fiance received a letter from the philippines embassy that she was approved, question: is

the I-129 application fee the same as an applicants visa fee? or are they to different fees?

thanks in advance

The application fee ($455) was the check/money order that would have been sent off with the I-129F. The visa/interview fee is usually paid at the interview, may be different in the Phillipines. Currently it is $131.

The I-129f is a petition not a visa application (with it's own fee, as you know) - the foreign beneficiary completes a visa application (DS-156) which carries its own fee. Its an important distinction.

This confusion comes from so many of or members referring to petitions as applications. In a process filled with reading carefully, interpreting literally and following detailed instructions, we tend to succeed and fail based on how well we deal with semantics.
