Well you can wait and let alot more people chime in, however I dont think a lawyer can get him here that soon. And most of the people here did not use a lawyer. They just take your money for something you can do, and they dont really help much unless there are other serious issues with the case.

You need to tell us a little more about ur case for us to give u more advice. And some can tell you the best way to file. However either way u will have a little wait time. Good luck.

Nebraska is out of the picture. You mail the I-130 to a lockbox in Chicago now and it will be processed in California or Vermont. I suggest you do some reading here and seriously consider sticking with the CR1 visa that would eventually result from an I-130 filing and skip the I-129F petition that results in the K3. Don't listen to anybody who suggests the visa process will take less than 9 months. Whomever is telling you "Nebraska" has out of date information. Start with the GUIDES here.

I big difference is in which service center your petition ends up at. This year, California has been approving k3's sometimes up to 6 months faster than Vermont. This is probably where you see the difference in approval times, even for the same ben. country.

Any lawyer that swears they can get your husband here in 3-6 months is full of it. Everyone has to wait at a service center and then wait for the consulate to schedule the interview and then wait for a decision and possible administrative processing (especially for the arab and muslim countries)

Good Luck in whatever path you choose.

We were just approved through Vermont after waiting 8 months. We are going to go with the K3 visa, it is faster and we have seen more approvals with less AP come out of our consulate with the K3.

Since we filed two petitions for the k3, and both were approved at the same time. We had a choice, CR1 or K3. There are a few more steps before the interview with the cr1, but your husband will step off the plane able to work.

The k3 can be faster but you have to do an adjustment of status once he gets here and that means 3+ months of no work.

Its a personal choice based on your priorities.

I hope that helped a little. This process is overwhelming but you will find valuable information and support on this website.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
