Eventhough I haven't request the packet from the Consulate yet but I want to get a head start on things.

For now I have a few questions on filling out some of the forms and I hope that you can clear it up for me.

1. Address in the US. I read a section and the finacee has to fill a question on where you stay in the U.S?...currently, I am living with my parents and planning to use their home address. I am planning to move out and rent an apartment when my fiancee get the visa to come to the States. If I put my parents address on the form then when she get here we move out and live some where else, is there a problems?

2. Birth Certificate. I wasn't born in the U.S so I don't have birth certificate in this country. Can I use US passport and naturalization paper to replace the birth certificate?

3. Fed tax return. in one of the form that you need to give to the consulate on the interview date. Do you just give them the copy of last year tax return or do you have to order it form the IRS?.....Do you need to show them the original W-2?

1. Use your parents address while you are living there, and then you can send in a change of address when you move into your own place. I think the form you use is AR-11.

2. You will use your Naturalization certificate in place of a birth certificate.

3. You will need a copy from the IRS of your Tax Transcript. It is free and only takes a couple of weeks to receive it after you order it from the IRS. If you have the Tax Transcript, you really don't need the W-2, but if you want to include it, just use one of the extra copies they send you.

Good luck with the process.

Thanks Raymaga and Aussie Angle.

I feel at ease a little now :-)

I will give IRS a call to get the tax transcript.

Once again, thanks for your time

About the tax transcripts- I did DCF in Australia for my husband and we used photo copies of the tax return that we got back from the tax agent. They were fine with that. :) I also had the originals with me, though, just in case they wanted to see them. So you don't have to have the ones ordered from the IRS, but it might save you a lot of photo copying....

Best to have exactly what the Embassy asks for, just in case you get a ConOff who is a by the book stickler  Also, since they are changing their procedures for filing, they may get all picky.

i was told to have original W-2's and I did...

but hey you never know!

Also remember if you DO say you live with your parents...you must include them on your affadavit of support.

You will have to make enough money for you, mom, dad and whoever else is int he household.

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
