I hate online forms...

Hey guys,

I"m just about to send off my 160 form and the only thing that is holding me up is my attached picture. I test the photo on the website and it comes up with an error saying that " the license is either incorrect or expired"...

License for what? I have no idea what they are talking about, and there is no where on the site that tells you what to do in case of this error :( Anyone have experience or ideas??

5/14/09 - Received Biometrics appointment letter - Appointment is June 2nd.
6/2/09 - Biometrics at Raleigh field office - they were some of the nicest people :)
6/18/09 - EAD approved and card production ordered
6/20/09- received AP papers in the mail
6/22/09 EAD card arrived in the mail (that was fast eh?)
7/09/09 - received notice of GC appointment date
8/07/09 - Green Card interview at Raleigh Field office at 8:45am - Given RFE for I-693 Vaccination suppliment
9/08/09 - returned RFE to field office. Approved for Green Card
9/09/09 - Received email that Card production had been ordered.
9/17/09 - Green Card in the mail - No more USCIS until June, 2011 :D

for those who have filled this form out, did you put your reciept number from your NOA2 on the form, or your MTL case number? and how long am I supposed to say I'll be in the US..I put 50 yrs :blush:

I have no idea about the licence error, that's strange.

I think I put like 70 years or something on mine, that question was funny. I don't understand why they don't have an option for 'forever'

The DS160 has been the most annoying part of the process for me.

nope, it was scanned by the printer/scnner program on my work computer and edited with Microsoft picture viewer. It's a jpeg file as they asked, so i'm baffled :S

Anyone know about the numbers? DId you guys fill out your NOA2 reciept number or your Montreal case number?

Hi Jenni,

I tried the 'test photo' application on this website and I got an error too.

Seems to me that this particular application is just....umm...not well done. (probably why they have the test photo option on the first page).

I double checked their software requirements, even downloaded the latest version of Java - still get a runtime error.

You may just have to keep trying it until you hit on a day when it is working correctly.

I didn't use this form for our visa application, however I would say they want your Montreal case number.

Good point Sapphire. I never went that far in the form, where you actually do upload the picture - maybe it's just the test application that doesn't work?

When I did it, you could test the photo before you started the application but once you went through the app, the photo upload was pretty much the same screen as the tester screen.

Sounds to me like its either too large of a file OR not high res enough. Do you know if it is a high res scanner?

Can you just take a photo of yourself with a digital camera against a white wall and then edit in paint? That's what I did and it worked.

my father scanned it at his office today with a better scanner - it wasn't too large, and it was within all the other requested specifications...

It was the fact that the error said "license is either incorrect or expired". That isn't a problem with the picture I wouldnt think.

I will attempt the new pic upload and let you know the results :)
