salamat (thank you) for all the well wishes. (F) ... felb, i don't even know if I am truly heading for educational progress.. from bachelor's degree to master's in the Philippines-- to what i will be doing in the next 2 years... it looks and (sometimes) feels like a regression actually. I'll just have to keep my eyes on what the end result would be and where I'd hopefully be in 4 to 5 years time.

hahaha. naku me too. regression to the nth level. everyday at work i feel like i wasted 5 years in UP. oh well, i'm planning to get a second (more useful) degree. all in the name of love.

Very long time ... but I tried to forget all of that process 'cause like the K1/K2 it tooks kind of forever.

We sent everything december 30th 2008, noas dated from January 2d 2009.

Got the AP and EAD only at the end of April.

And last week got bunch of mails from CRIS for me and my daughter.

And got the greencards today in the mail!

Something like 7 months for the AOS journey... but thats finally done and without interview.

I hope everything went good for everyone!

Lots of kisses to everyone!

Hiya all VJ members..

I am out on the limelight for so long again for some big difficult changes in my life from past couple months!

Now am living in a shelter here in Idaho and been here for almost two months now! life so hard for me and my plate is overflowing.. :crying:

I got my EAD and AP last month on the mail(did change address)! My AP, was aproved 1st of June and they did mail me NOA on same day but it was return to the postmasters; on same date, I did mail a for of change of address and it come across to the USCIS NAO), 5th of June, they approved my EAD and sent NAO also but same thing happend, mailed back t postmasters... My x-husband did sent it back for he doesn't know where I am nor where to locate me?! I called USCIS and then day finally mailed my papers to my friend's P O box.. and I also did recieved a NOA of My AOS that it's been xferred to CSC and now pending..

I am crossing my fingers and praying that they will approve my AOS just like they others that was xferred on CSC?! so that I won't deal much mess in my life?! huh?!

any point of views on my situation guys?! for the moment, I am trying my best to get any jobs here but seems alll doors are closed and am so vulnerable and flatbroke! ugh!!!:crying: I feel so down today inspite of some uplifting words I get my peers here in shelter!

anyways, CONGRATULATIONS to ALL THAT ARE DONE WITH USCIS DELIMA, atleast for awhile it is over with you GUYS!

BEST LUCK TO ALL OF US HERE AND AJA!!

Sorry for my extra loooong absence, finished my CNA class, passed the state exam... but I was not accepted in the nursing program for this year, I still need to take all those anatomy and physiology classes in advance to raise up my points for qualification next year... but all is well, after the crying was the realization that I don't really want to be a nurse anyway and since I have already conditioned myself that I am going to take Anatomy and Physiology this year, I might as well do it as prerequisite course for Occupational Therapy which is what I really wanted to do in the first place. So I will be taking prereqs for Occupational Therapy concurrently with Therapeutic Massage (just got accepted in that program which is more of a medical massage)... I will have my hands full this coming fall but I am sooo excited.:dance::dance:

Hurrah, sounds you have it all planned out! :D I hope things work out for you and that you enjoy the occupational therapy. It sounds really fun - and will probably be a lot less stressful and with better hours than nursing!

I'm looking to start my higher education all over again, too. On the one hand I am glad that I have finally found a career path as opposed to just working a dead-end job, but on the other hand I sometimes wonder if I shall ever get to where I want to be, especially financially.

I forgot to post here when I received my greencard; it was a couple of weeks ago.

My only issues are with Alex's continued unemployment. He is very down and isn't getting out of the house much. I suggest that we go out, but when he asks where, I have no real idea - as I'm new to this city! We see friends at the weekend but during the week he gets very lonely. It's hard sometimes, because I am still adjusting to a new country and here he is relying on me for all the support.

That is great, what do you plan to take? Will you be starting this fall? Your sentiments hold true with me too. I feel like I am finally going to do what I am really born to do but financially... with everything going on, I don't know when Ricky and I will be financially free... but it will come.. it will take years but it will come.

I am simply happy that he has been approved for Pell grant since he is not yet a degree holder, his whole LPN to RN program will be paid for including reimbursements for the uniforms and books we bought for his summer class. As for me, the degree I received in the Philippines disqualifies me for Pell grant but we are hoping I would qualify for the subsidized federal student loan which I could also use to help build my credit (once I start paying it off--and i plan to start paying it off sooner than necessary).

My heart goes out to you and Alex... sent you a PM.

rajemr2119: I am sorry you have to go through what you are going through, I hope you will be able to find way out from the shelter and be on your feet again soon. (((HUGS)))

Thank you so much for the PM, dbears. (L) I shall reply in a bit.

I'm planning to take a few accounting classes and eventually gain a BA in accounting. I'm currently working as finance/admin/sales support for a very exciting company - they make a new kind of energy storage platform that's environmentally friendly and we've just begun to sell units. It has the potential to grow into a very large and profitable business; I hope it does! The people there are wonderful - I am SO lucky - and I'm planning to continue working during the day and then study in the evenings.

I know a lot of people find accounting utterly boring, but I actually find it interesting; there's almost something soothing about math and logic. :)

I'll be starting this fall unless they try to charge me non-resident fees, in which case I'll wait until I've been resident for a year.

My salary isn't too bad, although it's expensive to live in the Bay Area, but obviously with qualifications I could double or triple my salary at least. I'm excited to start studying again but it's also a bit frustrating knowing that I can do the work but lack that all important piece of paper with my name on it!

Good luck on applying for the federal student loan; I hope you get it!
