No words can explain how I feel right now receiving a mail from USCIS informing us of our interview schedule....

WHEW! I have been waiting for this day to come!

Our interview is scheduled on July 24 @1030am.

Anybody in here had their interview in Houston? :blush:

Everything went so well. We arrived sometime before 2pm for a 2.30 appointment. The lady that seemed the nicest (and the one we hoped to get) called my name at 2.40pm.

We had to swear ourselves in and sit. She explained how the interview was going to proceed and then started. She first asked the mandatory questions: name, birth, address, etc...

Her first question regarding our relationship was about how we met which she asked directly to me (the alien) but my husband contributed the details. It seemed to be going pretty well.

Frankly, after that question, there weren't many others. We started talking about local life and events and places to visit; and while we were still talking she stamped my passport in approval.

She said it would take from 1 to 2 months to get the green card in the mail but in the meantime the stamp in my passport would suffice for any travel and proof of residency (the stamp itself is valid for a year). Apparently the 1 to 2 months wait is due to a change of policy and machine equipment for printing.

And that was it!

Strangely enough it lasted about 40 minutes but only because we were talking about beer.

We have our interview in Seattle on thursday and I haven't prepared anything yet. I know I will be doing this last minute on thursday morning.

We don't have any physical pictures. I have everything on my external hard drive. Do you think I need to go print some pics out? When I submitted our file I just printed some pics with our home printer. Is that okay to just bring the same on a regular A4 sheet of paper. We also have a printed book of pictures together but that was before getting married. Should I bring that with us?

Have AOS interview Thursday. What do I need to bring and what will they ask us both? How should we prepare?

Roland, there is a lot of information on VJ about getting ready for the interview. You can also look here: http://www.***removed***/greencard/bona-fid...umentation.html

Basically, you need to bring any documents proving your real marriage and living together. This is the list of what we had:

- Joint taxes for 2008

- Utility bills for both names

- Statements from the joint bank account

- Lease agreement for both names

- My husband's life insurance where I was a beneficiary

- Our medical insurance

- Car insurance with my name included

- Letters from relatives and friends for both names

- Our wedding and other pictures

They might ask you some standart questions about how you met, about your relative (parents), your wedding, your marriage life... It all depends on the officer. For example, our interview was extremely easy, the IO only asked several qustions about my medical exam, then we talked about our wedding and plans for the future. It was more like a friendly conversation that the interview. She didn't ask ANY of the documents and only looked through our wedding and other albums.

Paul&Rochelle, my congratulations!!! :thumbs: I totally understand your feelings since I got my GC today too!!! :dance::dance::dance: By the way, I noticed that our interviews were on the same day as well! Now we can relax till February 2011 :)

Make sure each of you bring a set of house keys to the interview.

Our interviewer actually asked to see ours . . . and then looked at them closely (I guess to make sure they fit the same house). It was just coincidence that we happened to have them on us. Had we left the house in one car, Svetlana likely would have left her keys at home. But since I had to pick her up at her part-time job and take her back there, she had the keys with her. :thumbs:

Interviewer also asked to see photos from when I visited her in Russia, and was disappointed that I did not bring any. That seemed odd to me, since I thought we were there to supply evidence of a MARRIAGE, whereas the photos from Russia were relevant only in estabilshing a RELATIONSHIP for K1 visa purposes.

It is just their online system that is far from being perfect... I first got CPO email on 15 May, my second one was on June 15th - but it was due to the delays because of the equipment remodeling. Then I got my card in the mail on June 22. And yesterday I got another e-mail from USCIS saying that they sent approval notice (which means GC) on June 23d! I wonder what they sent - another green card? :lol:

So, just relax and expect your GC in a week or so! :star:
