Marikiya, wishing you the best of luck at your interview tomorrow! It's wonderful that you mother-in-law will be able to be there with you! We will keep our fingers crossed for you! :yes:

My interview is in a week and I am surprisingly not nervous at all... May be it will come later bit it definitely can't be compared to what I felt before my K-1 interview. Most likely it's because my hubby will be with me this time and he always makes me feel more relaxed and confident :luv:

hello everyone. I have been on vacation so I know I have missed more good news from folks. CONGRATS!

Our vacation was terrific and it was hard to put them on a plane back to visit family and friends in Ukraine on Sunday--alone. :( The the plane had some air conditioning trouble and had to land only an hour after take off. Then they arrived in Ukraine, and the paasport control agent was refusing to allow my stepdaughter into the country. My wife had to talk to his manager to get them to relent. However, they warned that with the current documentation, my stepdaughter will not be allowed to leave Ukraine. Our problem is my stepdaughter was 17 when she came to the USA in october. In Ukraine, you have a children's international passport and an adult's. At age 18, she has to have an adult passport. She turned 18 in January so now her child's passport is expired. She had come over on her K2 visa in my wife's passport, but when traveling back, the airlines needed her to have her own passport number before they could issue the boarding pass. They were able to use the expired passport (fortunately, we had it with us). It was a bit tricky and messy at the airport, but I worked with Delta. My wife will apply for en emergency passport tomorrow in Ukraine and we have been told that it could be ready in a week. That is not an official response, but annecdotal reporting. Of course, the fee is much higher for an emergency one, but it will be worth it if it is completed in time.

The good news is both wife and stepdaughter want to come back home to me! Some people were suggesting that my stepdaughter would want to remain with her friends in Ukraine once she arrived. However, I chatted with her this afternoon and she is ready to come home NOW. She knows that is impossible, but it is nice to know she considers "home" to be with me.

sorry for the rambling...I hope no one else experiences any travel issues like ours. :wacko:

Hi folks, I was at SSA today to remove the restriction on my SSN card. They took my old SSN card and only needed to see my green card. (I brought my passport and our marriage certificate). The officer told me that I will get the new card in mail in 5 - 10 business day. Just one quick question, they won't change my SSN #, even with a new card, right?

Yes you will have the same SSN # but there will be no more restriction that says "valid for work only with DHS authorization" with the new card.

I am walking into our interview on Friday - May 8th. I am little nervous to be honest with you as my wife entered the country on B1/B2 visa while she was already married to me. Not sure what is coming our way, but I certainly hope for the best.

i-migrate thanks so much and all the best. I received my welcome letter today for permanent residency. It was approved (April 30) the day after my interview and mailed out the day after it was approved (May 1). I am on cloud nine. :dance: :dance: :dance::whistle::innocent:

Congrats Kcoylay1. I just read about ur interview in NY. My interview is in NY as well, i hope i don't have that frustration. But congrats again.

have a question for the aos interview.. i know its been listed there in the form the docs thats needed in the interview, but personally, what did you guys bring that you think is necessary on the interview,can u list it down. we'll have ours next week and i pray for a smooth sail interview, no hassles and for my gc to come in 2 weeks the earliest just like what others experienced.

shes we can only tell you what the interview letter tells you to bring. Bring all joint documents, and plenty pictures. Important to know about each other and each other family. Read the interview reviews and see if it will help you okay? All the best.
