Got my green card in teh mail over the weekend!! Before we filed I'd read this was going to take 6 mths plus but only 3 1/2 mths after filing I'm all done with USCIS until 2019......

Maricar had her medical exam redone today in response to an RFE requiring a new one, even though her K1 exam should still be good. (I am sure USCIS lost it). The I-693 should be ready in a couple days so I can send it to CSC and get the ball rolling again. Hopefully there will be no more RFE's and that green card will be here within a month. :clock:

We received the green card today in the mail.. It is expired in 2019. We thought this is a two-year greencard?? Actually it is ten years??

They made a wonderful mistake :lol: , too bad for them :D. Your gain. Congrats and enjoy it, I guess. :dance:

We are still confused. We filed from K1 visa.. but we have been married only for 4 months and got this 10-year GC. Our welcome letter did mention that our GC is conditionally.. So I guess it is conditional for 10 years!! Wonder if this is a mistake or??!!

After 3 years you can apply for Naturalization.

I am now concerned seeing that the welcome letter stated that the GC is conditional. It means that your documents at USCIS will also state that it is conditional. I wouldn't want to know that in two years you are receiving a letter that states that you are in removal process because you knew that it was a mistake but decided to act as if you didn't know. USCIS letters usually ask that you make sure that there are no mistakes on the card. It's up to you but maybe you should be safe than sorry and not let them think that you are trying to use their mistake as an excuse of ignorance...I'm just saying....

Maybe they might just tell you not to worry about it or tell you to still go through the process of removing conditions anyway in two years but you wont have to wait on a permanent residency card as you received it already. Another thing is that when you apply for your social security number the information will not be corresponding with your card. The SS Card will have conditions but your GC will have none. You need to use the GC to get the social security number, just remember that everything links up in the system and I wouldn't like for it to come back and bite you in the rear-end. Again it is up to you.
