January 2009 AOS Submitters

Yes, my visa was canceled in error last summer when I tried to come back from Canada after a 2 days trip. The officer mistakenly asked me for EAD card as my work authorization, which I didn't have (I had CPT for my paid full time internship). Later they found out it was a mistaken, but the cancellation is not reversible, but they told me that they have taken care of everything else. However, my visa had a big cross saying it was canceled now. (It also says it was canceled in error on the next page) Thats why I am so worried.

Thank you. Everything basically was print-out, so I can just give whatever to them. I am worried because I have a canceled visa. I hope they will understand it was a mistake.

Wow, that was fast. Did u ask for a stamp? I plan on asking for stamp (if I am approved), cuz I am going to have an internship in early may and I don't want to use my CPT(need to register for 1 credit class, and its 900 dollars). I went down to the office today, it was indeed very hard to find.

Yup Phoenix USCIS is hiding at the corner, you wouldnt know until you check up the directory. And no, I haven't ask a stamp, I was too happy to forget about it! I know your interview is coming up and u're super nervous but I'm sure u will be okay. Last time I went there everyone were very nice and they may probably ask you more about ur relationship since you aint adjust from K1. Rem to keep a set of copy since they will need them for filing. I wish you best of luck for ur interview and pls keep us updated!

Congrats. I wish my interview would be as easy as yours. Are the staff at phoenix office nice? I am so afraid that I will get a mean officer.

I got approved today at the Phoenix office! The whole interview lasted less than 10 minutes, the officer just looked at our photos. She also asked how we met, and how many times I've been to the US. Overall, it was easy peesie, good luck to everyone else.

aaw finally I got the interview letter in the mail today!!

So the notice date says april 15th and the interview date is on june 18th!

still no AP though but i'll be patient enough. i'm not supposed to travel before august anyway.

I got approved today at the Phoenix office! The whole interview lasted less than 10 minutes, the officer just looked at our photos. She also asked how we met, and how many times I've been to the US. Overall, it was easy peesie, good luck to everyone else.

Congrats andiste08 . Is that all that they asked you; no evidence, no tax documents etc? I hope mine will be just like yours.

Thanks kcoyclay1! Yep, that's all they asked me. The tax documents were already submitted with the application, and there wasn't any problems with it. So all they wanted to see was my photos. I photocopied everything before the interview, and they didn't even need to see any of it! The staff are very nice and friendly at the Phoenix office, it's really laid back.

i got a letter receipt from ssa saying i'll get the card in 2-3 weeks..u nkow that receipt i got the first time i applied for ss card..after a week i got it so, i hope this ones the same thing..i'll be so glad if they were able to verify my status at dhs and sent me a card in my married name

im wanting to work already, but i guess im gona wait til i get the 2 yr gc until i formally apply for job.

Congrats for your receipt! I've received one too I guess it means they have verified our names. I hope u have smooth one for your interview and have ur gc on hand asap! I'm waiting for my gc too and I'm dying to have a job. I was accountant before and hopefully job market wont be too bad here. What did you do before? Anyone can share the experience for job interview with us here?

i got my card in married name! need to make sure they recorded it right though cus i have 3 names and it didnt fit on the card so better make sure they have it completed in their records. yeah im excited to apply and ofcourse land a job. i was an RN in the PI, and will apply as an RN here as well..

i think u can apply to a tax preparer as an accountant..thats very good and stable business now adays i think

Well like you said they have wrote down your visa was canceled in error on the next page then it should be good enough for overcome the problem. I'm sure u will be just fine like I and andiste08, the officer there were very nice so you should be ok. I look forward to hear your good news when you comes back from interview! Good luck!

i got my card in married name! need to make sure they recorded it right though cus i have 3 names and it didnt fit on the card so better make sure they have it completed in their records. yeah im excited to apply and ofcourse land a job. i was an RN in the PI, and will apply as an RN here as well..

i think u can apply to a tax preparer as an accountant..thats very good and stable business now adays i think

RN has very high damand job market not only in US but everywhere! I'm sure you can get a job real soon. and woow you have 3 names? u mean 3 names in the middle or ??
