What do you wear to the interview?? Do you dress like if you were going to a job interview? or more casual?

I think it is better to dress like a job interview. First impression is very important.

It kinda shows a respect to the government office !...

I want to hear all the details at the interview, as you know I'm gonna attend to the same local office for

my AOS interview.

My EAD arrived today, took 66 days for approval. Now I'm just looking forward to that wonderful AOS interview. I think smart casual is the way to go, such as a nice pair of trousers and a buttoned down shirt with jumper. I don't think a tie is necessary! Good luck to those who are having interviews.

Hello,

Also, we have received my AOS interview for May 14th, 2009 at 11:28. Is there a reason why the time of the interview is for 11:28 and not 11:30?

I will have the following when I go:

0. Marriage Certificate and all corresponding AOS forms.

1. Two of the most recent Bank Statements (1checking and 1 savings)

2. Credit Card Statements

3. Two Photo Albums (1 Before Marriage, we were together for 8 years before we got married so hence we have alot of pictures from high school through college and etc.. and 1 for our Marriage Ceremony)

4. Car Insurance under Both of our Names

5. Utilities Bills in both of our names

6. Cell Phone Bill in both of our names

7. Att Bill in both of our names

8. Direct Tv Bill in both of our names

9. My wife's Tax Returns and Passport, which show our current address as additional proof of residency.

However, the only item we will not have are Joint Health Insurance. My health insurance is through my current employer and hers is included as a part of tuition for her university Will this be an issue?

Please let me know if you think or if I should add anything else to my list. Your opinion will be greatful apperciated.

We had our interview this morning. All went well & we are approved !!!

Arrived at the office (Houston) at 9am for our 9:30am appointment. Plenty of people already there so we were expecting to have to wait, but I think a lot of them were there for enquiries rather than interviews. Went through security (note no camera phones, food or drinks allowed, but I was allowed to take my laptop & blackberry in). Handed our appointment letter in at the window and took a seat.

After only 10 mins waiting we were called – well before our appointment time. We have a 4mth old son as well as a 3yr old daughter. After much debate we ended up taking our son with us as he’s usually well behaved and left our daughter at home with her grandmother. Turned out to be a good call, the Immigration Office was very friendly and we hardly had to show any documentation to support our marriage, so all the photo albums, bills, statements etc never came out of the file. She did check our id’s and passports, took out my I94 and attached it to her file. She asked us both a few questions, mainly just verifying information on the forms in front of her – nothing too difficult. From what I could see she was checking off particular boxes on the application forms as she confirmed the information. We had to confirm the signatures on the forms were ours and I had to resign one form (not sure which one).

After only 15mins I was amazed when she said I could put all the documents away now as we were done. Shortly afterwards she gave me a Approval Notification letter. I asked about stamping passports but she said they don’t do that & that I should have the card within 2 weeks. And that was it, done. Can’t believe I spent all that time photocopying, printing pictures etc and hardly any of it got looked at it but it’s a small price to pay.
