I share your feelings. I am one jealous person also BUT I am genuinely happy for those who received interview dates also. It gives me the hope that there is a big chance of me getting the interview letter soon after our biometrics next week.

Today went from great to horrible in one simple letter. When picking up the mail my heart skipped a beat in excitement when I saw the envelope from the USCIS. Eagerly I opened the envelop expecting a interview letter or an approval of my EAD but as soon as I saw the pink letter my heart broke. One month exactly after my biometrics appointment, two months after I submitted my applications I get the dreaded RIE (request for initial evidence). Apparently the letter and amount of pay stubs we submitted weren't enough. So now I have to resubmit things and wait god knows how much longer. Does anyone know if this totally ruins any hopes of my EAD being approved in the next month (the total 90 days) or if this means I have to start all over again? I'm so annoyed right now and the worst is there is nothing I can do about it!!

I am sorry you had to receive RFE. Most RFE or RIE is for the AOS so I would assume the 90 max waiting time for EAD approval would still hold true and you can still request for expedite through infopass once the 90 days pass w/o any news on EAD. Just make sure you send your RFE reply the soonest. Hold on tight, we will soon receive our EADs and green cards.

Thank you so much for the encouragement!! It has been a long and hard day for my family...hopefully we can have everything in the mail by Saturday and there by Tuesday. I can't take much more of this waiting for my EAD....I need to get back to work and not to mention the fact that we need to file our taxes soon!! lol

Hello everyone

I sent in my AOS/EAD/AP on the 27th of January 2009. I had my biometrics appointment on the 21st of February 2009 and I now have my AOS interview on the 20th of April. Fingers crossed everything will go smoothly.

Hi, Steveo, I am from the Phoenix area too. I sent the application even earlier than you (Jan 20th), but so far, no interview for me. I got a RFE early in Feb, and returned it on Feb 18th. So I hope I can get an interview soon. Big congrats on your interview letter.

Hello All,

I just returned from work and checked my mailbox to find interview letter for my wife's case. The interview date is May 08, 2009. I hope everybody gets his/her interview letter soon.

Quick question: The interview letter says: Request to appear for initial interview --- is it a standard lingo that USICS uses for its interview notification letters?

Also, the letter also talks about bringing a list of things such as Medical examination, Affidavit of support, birth certificates of applicant and kids etc. etc. Is it standard for all interview letters or am I getting a SPECIAL treatment...

I hope we are not required to bring the medical exam info since we do not have it! It was sent in with the application, along with the affadavit of support. It is curious, to me, they would ask you to bring the things that have already been given to them with the AOS application.

It says on the letter to bring the medical report and I-864 "unless already submitted".

we mailed our rie today, never thought i would enjoy my husband working midnight-8am but he got a new letter from work and we were able to mail it off this morning. question: they asked for 6 months pay stubs and i only had a couple (which i sent copies of with the application) so i included the w-2 from last year to prove how much he made. do you think that would be okay?

I didn't even think about doing that...the difference between us filing without my ssn and with it is almost $3,000 and after this wonderful process we could use the extra money!!

Thanks. I think I've been pretty lucky. Should add that although I was able to see my case on the USCIS website right after I got my NOA's, there was no further updates until getting the auto email for EAD & AP approvals yesterday. No touches for biometrics or anything else, so don't worry if you're not seeing anything on the website, work may still be going on.

Alex & Rachel - My wife was on B1/B2 visa (which has now expired). How did you know that your fingerprints will be rejected. Fingerprint results are usually sent back to USCIS the very next day if not sooner, so I do not believe it will cause any delays in your case. Good Luck!

I had a feeling they'd be rejected because as the lady was scanning my fingers I saw the screen kept flashing with 'no match found'. Only my thumbs and forefingers seemed to be okay.

Alex & Rachel, you could try doing a walk-in if your ASC isn't one of the busier ones. I've read about many people successfully doing a walk-in biometrics before their scheduled appointment.

Good to know! I'm pretty busy so I'll probably stick with the date given but I'll definitely be turning up early as last time my appointment was for 9 am and before 9 it was very quiet.
