That is great news Rachel.:dance::dance:

I do feel that it will help both you and alex that you be able to file the soonest and get the EAD.

I think I have shared in the January CSC thread before that I was denied SSN the first time I applied here in our county, went to Raleigh and they accepted my application with no problem. That was november 10, up to now we still have not recieved any news about it. We did visit Raleigh office first week of January, they said my admission status did not match my visa so we set infopass with USCIS Raleigh office to inquire about the problem, well, the immigration officer at my POE failed to put K1 as my admission status, he just left it blank. .... Just two click of the keyboard, he failed to do it and it cost me not getting my SSN sooner. We have not gotten denial letter from SSN yet, but since my I-94 has expired last month, I guess I have no choice now but to just wait for EAD before applying for SSN.

Anyways, it feels great to be sharing another journey with familiar people and i am excited to get to know others as well... last year we were all single waiting to be with our fiance and planning our weddings while waiting for NOA1, NOA2, interviews, medical and visa... now, we are all married and onto another immigration journey.

Do hope AOS will be fast and smooth for all of us. (((HUGS)))

oh i see..as for me i just wrote down dec 20, im not sure about it but i just put a random date, it wont matter anyway when u receive the Advance Parole. i still cant understand if i need to file AP and the re-entry permit or just either 1 of these 2.

hope someone help me clear up this issue about who doest need and who needs to file the AP and the re-entry permit.

in my understanding, AP is for people whose green card are still on process while re-entry is for green card holders (permanent residents) who will be out of the country for a year or more. even when we become permanent residents (in which case we wont need AP anymore) we will only be allowed a certain number of days to be out of the country.

hope i have helped.. good luck shes. God bless always.

so ate were in the category of "in wait for green card"? is it correct?

yes, waiting for green card... maximum waiting time for AP is just 90 days (you can set appointment for infopass and request to expedite your AP if you don't get it in 90 days) while the green card or permanent residency approval could take 6 months or more (other lucky people gets approve in 2 or 3months though)... now if you plan to travel back to the Philippines or travel out of US prior to getting your AOS approval/permanent residency/green card, then you definitely need the AP.

Just wanted to pop in.... I am sure our package has arrived but haven't had time to check it and now of course that I am thinking about it the receipt I need to use to track it is at home not at work here with me LOL....oh well will maybe remember tomorrow....

Good luck all! I still need to bring Gareth to get a picture id (we aren't doing the driving thing until spring since he doesn't have really any driving experience so told him he is not practicing in my car in the winter no way! hahaaha). He got his SSN no probs so that was easy enough. Now let's hope all the rest of the journey goes as easy :)
