Our biometric appointments went smoothly for both my wife and step-daughter. I took the marriage license since the appointment letter was issued in my wife's new name but her passport displayed her old name. The worker took both in at the same time, and 15 minutes later, we were leaving! I was a bit surprised that I was told to "wait here" while they went down the hall, but it was fine with me.

oh..the petitioner wont go with the beneficiary inside? hhmmm...does anybody know what exsctly happens in biometrics?

I guess it depends from one USCIS office to another. In Alexandria, VA they allowed my husband to be with me during the biometrics. I was even asked about why my last name is different in my appointment letter from my passport and it was my husband who answered the lady.

it definitely sounds like each office handles things differently. In fact, it was I who asked the lady at the office if she needed the marriage license since the passport name did not match her married name. :star: However, they were all very pleasant and I do not think your experience, no matter which office, will be troubling or scary!

I have just had my biometrics done and it all went very smoothly! I arrived 1-hr early, but they did not care, after filling in a form they just took my fingerprints (They took fingers together then each thumb and then each individual finger), After that my picture was taken and I left. In all it took around 15-minutes. Oh and they put a red stamp on my biometric letter and handed it back as my receipt.

The only thing that bothered me is that the people there, except for the security guard, seemded so darn miserable!

In all though it went really well

JulianDavid,

My wife just called me, in the post today, she received a biometrics letter - only problem was that we only recived one. The letter was for her 6 year old daughter. There was no Biomterics notice for my wife. So, hopefully hers will arrive tomorrow. The appointment for the daughter was set for March 10.

So, maybe yours is on the way as well.

Good Luck and I will update all when my wife's letter is received in the post.

Johnicka, thanks for the update! Congratulation on the good news! I hope that the invitation for your wife is coming within the next couple of days. By the way, did you call USCIS and place a service request for bio appointment? I did that two weeks ago and was told to wait for the reply for another 30 days. We've got nothing so far but I do hope to get the invitation soon. Thanks for your wishes and let us know how it is going.

I don't know about all of you but I am going nuts waiting.

This endless waiting was bad enough for my I-130 and I-129F applications but the longer it continues the worse I get.

I swear the only thing that kept me sane last time was being able to track my case online, I know it isn't always accurate but it was then for me.

Now I have nothing but to wait for something to arrive.

I know I should be more grateful because some of you are still waiting on your biometrics appointments and I have completed mine almost a month ago.

I JUST HATE ENDLESS WAITING AND NOT BEING ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!

Hilkka, you are within a normal timeframe and there is no reason to be that much upset because you can't see your cases on-line. As it was said before, the information on the site is very often out-of-date and doesn't give you the real status. I have my cases on-line but this is not useful at all - I am still waiting for my bio invitation. Does it bother me? Yes, it does but then I think of those months when we were waiting for my fiancee visa and how difficult it was to be apart. Right now I am together with my husband, and it is the most important thing that matters. Yes, this waiting is a little frustrating but it's much easier to wait together, and I know that anyway I will get my green card sooner or later. So, I would advise you just try to relax and enjoy time with your family! I am sure you will have good news from CRIS pretty soon!

I don't mind the waiting either. I know everything will arrive eventually and then I will be so relieved but I'm fine right now.

Tomorrow I have my biometrics in Seattle and I'm thinking about arriving at 10 instead of 11 and maybe get out earlier. My husband took a day off to be able to drive me. I'm too scared to drive in Seattle yet. It's too soon. I was driving in DC when I lived there but it's different.

And then we will go deal with a health insurance. It's about time.

In the same situation... Cannot track my case status online, and also I didn't send 2008 tax return, so I wonder if I get RFE for that.

So no letters...no cases shown online...nothing but waiting.

My AOS case status is now showing online, it wasn't this morning until after I had gone for the biometrics appointment. Probably just a coincidence though.

After sending in the RFE information, will I get a receipt in the mail? I'm unable to access his case online, so I won't be able to see if they have received the information. Can anyone help me out???

Thanks!

Angel had his biometrics appt. on Tuesday, and it went well. A short 15 minutes and he was out of there. Now we just have to pray that the RFE information I sent is enough to make them happy and continue on with the process.

I totally agree with you. The waiting makes you go nuts!! Dont get me wrong im very happy to be together with my wife but ur life here is stuck on a stop sign till AOS moves forward. I called USCIS today because i coudnt see the 131 and 130 status online after i was transferred to an IO she said not to worry she could see them and everything is fine. Then shes like it usually takes 1 to 1.5 years to complete the process. I'm hoping not!!! Im really happy that one of us january filers got the interview letter but it kinda makes waiting even harder because i filed a week after they filed theres and now its been 2 weeks since they got their IL and i havnt heard anything!!!!!

I had my biometrics appt this morning. Arrived at 10.30 and got out at 12.15

It was pretty busy and it didn't go smoothly for me. I mean the people were nice and everything but the wait was really long and once inside they told me I had to take my lip piercing off and I knew it would be complicated because last time I tried to unscrew it it was stuck and I couldn't do it. So they gave us rubber gloves and my husband tried so hard that my lip started to bleed and there was no way it would be unscrewed so we left, went across the street to a body shop and they gave us some tool to just cut it off! so I was piercing-less and sad!

got back in, waited even more, and got done in 10 minutes. I didn't even get to see the picture they took of me. and she said my next step would be in May. or did she say my next step will be in Maine?? lol

and we left. I felt very frustrated. and on the way home we stopped in a tattoo shop to buy a new piercing and it's bigger than the one I had and it's bugging me.

anyway, i'm glad it's over!
