Well... I know It would be better if he could go with me... but there is nothing I can do. It is not like he can fly from the ship... you know?

Im going to try and call the military line on Monday and see what they say. Maybe they tell me that I can schedule my interview for when my husband gets back this summer.

I have a deployment letter saying that he is on deployment... I guess I will take that to the interview.

I dunno....

Rachel and shes': Good luck on your biometrics today. Pls let us know how it goes. It's interesting to know that some USCIS centers are open on Saturday. I wish we also had a Saturday sched so my kids wont have to be absent from school again but I am still very happy and thankful that we got the biometrics schedule as it is.

Good luck to all of us. Have a grand weekend.grphug.gif

Thanks dbears!

Well, Alex and I were so afraid of being late that we turned up 40 minutes early. This turned out to be very fortuitous, as it was early in the morning and there were no queues, so I was actually in and out before my appointment was officially due to start. My appointment was for 9 am; I was out by 8.55 am. :)

Filled in my form, handed it in at reception, walked around the corner and didn't even have time to sit down before a lady took me to the nearest biometrics station where she took my fingerprints and photo.

It says on the appointment letter to just bring the letter and a photo ID, but if you filled out the forms using your married name as I did then you'll certainly need your marriage certificate too. I'd also recommend making a note of your SSN somewhere as it asks for it on the form. I had to leave it blank as I didn't bring my SSN with me.

When they take your fingerprints they ask you to rub gel onto your hands and then for each finger they'll wipe it with a wet wipe just beforehand.

The lady took each fingerprint twice, and I noticed that it kept flashing up on screen that my fingerprints were not a good match! My thumbs were okay, but each finger registered a 'warning: match uncertain'. I hope this doesn't mean trouble later down the line! They were most definitely my fingers, so obviously my hands just don't like having fingerprints taken. :P

Hi everyone just popping on to say hello and let you all know we just received our letter today for an interview...blah...oh well gives us a trip over to Detroit haha. We have to go May 6th for the interview.

Congratulations! :D

Also had a similar problem with biometrics on Thurs. The woman said we might get another notice in the mail if the fingerprints are rejected and have to go back again to confirm that the prints match eachother if they couldn't be verified for whatever reason. Hoping this doesn't push us back in the process.

I have the same experience during my fingerprinting. Some fingers didn't match... the first 3 fingers in my right hand passed right away but the rest the lady was having a hard time and she mentioned that she was trying her best that I will not come back for another fingerprinting. I am praying that it will be fine.

See I'm in the same boat as you! I had to have an interview to get my K-3 visa and at this point knowing I have an interview coming would be better than endless waiting. However, I do understand why some would not want an interview cause there is always that extra possibility of getting a bitchy interviewer and then picking everything apart. But either way (processed with or without an interview) it's good, because at least they are processing it. My stuff was accepted on Jan 10 and I had my biometrics done Feb 9 and since then nothing. So I too am keeping my fingers crossed and hopefully your family and mine (and everyone else) will get some new....ANY good news soon!!

Apparently our EAD main site time line is not working right, cause now mine says it should have been adjudicated on January 10,2009 which was the day they accepted my packet. WEIRD!!!

Thanks for sharing, this is the most detailed Biometrics experience thus far and it would certainly help ease my kids and my mind at ease.

Oh just for those wondering here is what Gareth's biometrics consisted of....

1st time- went there....one other couple was there. Couldn't bring in cellphones and such just ran and plopped in car. He filled out a form...had all fingerprints taken and a photo that was it...took like 10 mins total!

2nd time- (unusual but we had to send forms seperate since he forgot to sign one for working haha! so we got a second biometrics out of it)...went in and again was one other family waiting working on their form....he filled out a form again. Lady asked if he hadn't just been there a week or two ago (we had). She laughed and did just 2 fingerprints and one picture. Took maybe 5 to 10 mins again haha.

Easy Peasy

I came to my biometrics appointment 2 hrs early. The guy who is checking the ID and appointment letter told me "Next time dont come too early" and then he stamped my biometrics letter. Im glad the guy still let me in. I filled up the form and then had my fingerprints and photo taken. It was quick and easy only took me 10 minutes.

Im getting excited that 2 of the January fillers already had their interview appointment. Congrats to them! I hope that we get our EAD approval this early March so we can start our job hunting. Im getting bored staying at home and doing the same thing everyday. I want to work and be productive.

Goodluck and Godbless!
