What type of visa did you enter the US with?

hi Rosie,,not really sure if i wa the one you asked?I entered here in a K1 visa.BUt had my GC when l went home serving my GC as my re entry permit.

Hi Happywifemom, I was actually asking the OP, because it all depends on the status he is in the US now.

He/she also came on a K1 but has no Green Card in hand, so the AP is necessary in order to come back to the US :)

Yes i know he can't travel without an AP while his case is pending.Just thought he has a GC but still waiting for AP .What i was trying to say was if he has a GC i think he can travel even without it but i am not recommending it.

Thanks anyway Rosie.

AP is an interim benefit. A GC makes the AP meaningless/worthless/moot... If you get your GC before AP is approved, you will never get AP because it is no longer needed. If you have a GC then you can travel.

YMMV

I FILED FOR MY AP AND MY AOS BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE MY AP INSTEAD I RECEIVED MY GC IN A VERY SHORT TIME. NOBODY ASKED IF THE POSTER'S AP/AOS ARE ON THE SAME SITUATION, THAT'S WHY ONE MEMBER GAVE A SCENARIO WHEREIN THERE'S A POSSIBILITY FOR TRAVEL. THANK YOU!!!

The chances of that happening are less than 5%. Highly unlikely. I think most people know that a GC is good for travel and work.
