I understood that you were using the CAPS to separate your comments from the quotes.

I think you need to understand what is going on in the DHS vs the DOS also, and the extra scrutiny given to men from arab countries after 9-11.

You keep quoting the fact that you have an approved 129F petition and therefore your hubby is entitled to a visa. Doesnt work that way. Your approved petition only gives him the opportuntity to apply for a visa based upon the relationship. Its up to him to prove (demonstrate) that he deserves the visa...based up his application and interview. Appartently, and becuase its CASA, this isnt being done.

You cant compare CASA to the consulates in Europe. They look for different things. Countries where problem visas have been issued will now provide tighter scrutiny. Somehow, this seems to escape you.

but....I do wish you the best, and if your relationship is real, then I hope your hubby gets his visa.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the msg. There have been many that have taken time out to write really helpful replies, who have been berated simply because the answer is not what you want to hear. I for one would be more thankful that someone took time out of their day to try to help me, instead of attempting to belittle or dismiss them.

we are simply not in the same era as mohammed... large age gaps are pretty rare in morocco today... as are marriages to divorced women and women with children... so why are a huge proportion of women applying for moroccan fiancés much older

I don't think selectively pulling one part of the Prophet's life is an argument that will resonate with the consulate. It may make sense to the man marrying an older woman, but I agree with the other posters that it isn't something the CO will consider as much of an argument.

You may disagree that older woman/younger man marriages (both Moroccan) are rare in Morocco, but then we can discuss what constitutes "rare". It is far from common, and it sure isn't even remotely as common as the older woman/younger man marriages between a Moroccan Man and a Western women.

Quote from the survey: This national survey on Moroccan society's values concluded that more than 90% of Moroccans, men and women, favour marriage. Eighty five percent of them say it is preferable to marry before 25. Early marriage is associated with women and the late one with men. Most of the population said that over 25 is the ideal age for men to marry.

It also says that marriage without children is "almost unthinkable" and implications can be drawn from that about marriage to a woman beyond child bearing years.

I don't think there is anything wrong with a large age difference -- just stating as others have that it is not the norm in the country and hence probably the reason the consulate considers it a red flag.

Rebecca

its right here in black and white... statistics... would a moroccan man marry a substantially older moroccan woman? ... not saying that is impossible, but the men arent flocking in huge numbers to marry older moroccan women... its just plain and upfront.

So what can you say about Debbie Moore?

That she's a movie star, wildly famous, tons of money, and looks like she's in her 20s?

thats what I'd say about Demi Moore (if that's who you meant)

Well, not really relevant-Demi is not married to a Morroccan who has to pass through CASA for his visa. Clearly a different situation.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

I understand all the emotion involved in this case, but one thing we all have to remember whether we like it or not is that as a USC we do not have an absolute right to bring anyone into this country. It is a privilege so we have to be very careful when stating how unfair immigration is because we can't help whom we fall in love with, as the government and its representatives do have a right to withold immigration privileges from anyone it deems to not warrant such. That's just the way it is.

If indeed such a privilege is not granted to your SO, then are you willing to relocate to Morocco? Obviously that would be the next logical step. As you say, we can't help whom we fall in love with but we also have to look at how much we are willing to sacrifice to be with that person - if it really is love then we would be willing to go to the ends of the earth to be with that person - love knows no bounds - so in point of fact the fact that you can't get a visa for him to come to the US isn't the end of the world or the relationship - just means a reversal of process - you go there instead of him come here. No big issue - problem solved - everyone happy! That's the real test of how much you love someone - what are you prepared to give up for them if your initial plans can't be realised.

Thats really a lovely but very naive thought. You see I would be willing to move to Morocco if the need be, but my dad just had a stroke and there is no one else but me to take care of him. I hope they don't make me choose between my sick father and my true love, what would I do?

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

ok, I made a mistake , Demi Moore! What I mean is that it's ok for women in Hollywood to marry younger men, but it raises red flags to CO's for wanting to marry a younger foreigner.
