What does "This case has been sent to another office for processing" mean? (K-1)

Hi everyone :) I'm a new member here, so I hope you guys can help me.

I received NOA-1 on Nov 3 ( hard copy received on Nov 7) and my case status online was "case received and pending".

And then i got a touch and the following message on Dec 15.

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing.

Your case is now in the next step of processing and on November 6, 2008 we sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process each kind of case in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the link below for current processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

I'm kinda confused because it says "sent to ANOTHER OFFICE". :(

Does it mean our case has been sent to another office from Vermont Service Center??? Or is this normal message for the first touch of K-1 process??

What was your status message after you received NOA-1? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

It means that they've sent your petition to the California Service Center because they were getting overwhelmed and falling behind.

Our Timeline

June 22nd, 2008: Got engaged in Sydney!

August 9th, 2008: Mailed I-129F Petition

August 11th, 2008: I-129F Petition received, signed by V SEMEGI

August 12th, 2008: NOA1 issued

August 13th, 2008: Touched

August 18th, 2008: NOA1 sent

August 20th, 2008: NOA1 hard copy received!

December 19th, 2008: Touched

December 21st, 2008: Touched (on a Sunday?)

December 22nd, 2008: NOA2 sent!

December 27th, 2008: NOA2 hard copy received

December 31st, 2008: NVC mailed petition to Sydney Consulate

January 13th, 2009: fiancée received packet 3 from Sydney Consulate

Feb 11th, 2009: fiancée returned packet 3 documents to Sydney Consulate

Feb 12th, 2009: Sydney Consulate received packet

March 6th, 2009: fiancée inquired about packet 3's status,

March 9th, 2009: Sydney Consulate claims that the interview notice was emailed out on Feb 13th, 2009 for Feb 24th and that she never showed up for the interview!!!!

March 10th, 2009: After some arguing with the Consulate, they've rescheduled an interview

March 17th, 2009: Interview is at 8AM, fiancée, approved!!!

March 19th, 2009: Fiancée received visa in the mail along with yellow envelope for POE

March 28th, 2009: I'm flying to Sydney

April 5th, 2009: We're flying back together!

April 21st, 2009: Got legally married!

PLEASE EMAIL YOUR CONSULATE A FEW DAYS AFTER MAILING IN YOUR PACKET 3 DOCUMENTS JUST IN CASE THEY EMAIL YOU AN APPOINTMENT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND YOU END UP NOT RECEIVING IT. THEY DO EMAILS NOW!!!!

Thank you for your replies :) I've never expected my petition would be transfferd to CSC :blink:

I'm wondering if many K1/Vermont fillers receive the same message i did.

i'm a bit relieved to know where my petition is though. Just hope it won't take longer for me to get the NOA-2 from CSC.
