Speaking to the previous point, I believe senior state people should be Senators. This is one example of worthy people for the Senate. Work hard in your state, stay honest, move up.

Even though Blagojevich's choice for the Senate will probably succumb to his personal corruption, Roland Burris appears to be an honest individual for this role. Agreed that Blagojevich is corrupt, but Roland Harris is a solid statesman, deserving of the seat. I would agree with with this appointment.

Sarah Palin has absolutely zero intellectual curiosity. She learned about the surge on TV, she couldn't name a single newspaper or magazine that she reads regularly, her understanding of government is grade school level at best, and she quite frankly lies like a rug.

I don't believe Kennedy or Palin are fit to hold office, but it's for very VERY different reasons. Regardless of what you think of her politics, Kennedy will be ready someday. If they know what's good for them, the GOP will stick a fork in Palin, because she's done.

Certainly this isn't directed at me?? I just layed out my points, and am in complete agreement that she is untested and unready. Kennedy has shown no interest in public life, and has no public accomplishments. I believe she is bright and capable, but she has no record of public or even private service.

So no free rides from me, no red-carpet treatment. I believe she has great potential (unlike Palin) but she needs to earn her wings first, before being handed a Senate seat.
