Hey guys...I've been poking around this site for awhile so I thougth it was time to join up and introduce myself. I'm a 26-year-old female from Virginia, US. My hubby is 33-years-old, from West Yorkshire, England. We met online early this year (2008) and got married in September. The original plan was for me and my 5-year-old daughter to move to England to be with him...but plans have recently changed so he is planning to come here now for a few years (long enough to get his citizenship) and then we plan to move to England. We have been researching the process for the CR-1 visa, and we are planning to apply in January (there was way too much going on in December for us to try to worry about it before the new year). It is very depressing that the spouse visa to America can take 12 months or longer, but I can get a spouse visa to the UK processed in 48 hours. I'm trying to maintain my sanity while my daughter and I have to be physically separated from my husband...and expecting that it will be another year before we can live together as a proper family. This entire processing is so frustrating and it seems so unfair that I can't just be with my husband!

OK...I'm done venting now...just having one of those nights where I really miss him...I'm sure you have all gone through this at one time or another.

I'm actually an extremely chipper and positive person (not that you can tell tonight...lol) and would love to get to know you guys better...I welcome any tips on how to survive the separation for such an extended period of time.

It is very frustrating to hear how easy it is to immigrate to other countries.

I only wish Canada were one of them.... my husband and I would love to move back to Canada if it weren't such a nightmare.
