Help Me Yardies!

My hubby had his medical done today in Mobay, but he was told it might not be ready for the Jan. 12 interview date.

We scheduled the medical as soon as we got interview date. They knew about our interview date, but still gave him a Dec. 30 medical.

Now they're saying they would need 14 working days. I can't believe this will derail our plans. After waiting for almost 14 months, we might have to reschedule the interview!! Can't believe it! :crying:

Any advice would be great.

-Karen

Whatever you do, do not reschedule the interview. If the medical is not ready by the interview date, you can still have the interview and they will give you a blue slip to bring the medical back when you get it and your approval will be issued.

Ditto! I certainly understand your frustration. However, under no circumstance should you cancel the interview. Try to see if your husband can pick up the medical results in person. The Embassy will accept it as long as the envelope remains sealed. In the event that the medical isn't ready, still go to the interview. Worst case scenario: Your hubby may be given a pink slip. As long as he has a clean bill of health, he will be approved at a later date. Try to enjoy your holiday.

Good advice.....do not cancel interview.

That's a long time for the medical. I think they are just being fools. I'd call them January 7th or so and see if you can sweet talk them. I cannot possibly take that long.

Good luck.

Thanks for the support you guys! I will be sure to keep the interview date.

They said its 14 days for him to pick it up. I hope it is ready for him to pick up by the 9th. So frustrating! I hope a miracle happens and its ready. They should expedite or do something!

Having lived in Jamaica early in life and experienced the painfully slow bureaucracy first-hand, I really should have been more prepared for this. But I thought you could only schedule the interview when you knew the interview date.

Oh well.

I'm glad you allowed me to vent! You are all truly wonderful women!

Your responses made me feel better!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome and on how the interview goes.

Karen, you said Mobay Hope, right...you can call there and ask for Mrs. Osborne I've spoken to hear plenty of times and she's a sweetheart. Most likely it will be ready. Will he pick up the medical?

This exact thing happened to me. I just explained at my interview the problem about the medical they just gave me a letter telling me to send the medical to them as soon as I got it and if everything was fine I would recieve my papers to move with in 14 days. I sent in the medical but it took them 30 days to process it but other then that it was not a problem.

Good luck to you also.
